Excellent Design and Ease of Functionality
Arvosana 5/5[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm extremely happy with the Philips Series 2000 Air humidifier, it is in every way better than my last humidifier. The box is well designed and robust, it was in pristine condition on arrival. It is slightly larger than expected but this is outweighed by the simple and elegant design. I have no issue with it looking out of place in any room in my house. It comes in three parts. The top houses the electrical components and the controls, the bottom is an empty vessel to hold the water and finally a filter to be placed in the bottom vessel. The instruction manual is easy to follow and we had no problems assembling and operating the item. When operating the item is extremely quiet, so can be used in a bedroom or other quieter area. It does exactly what you would want it to do very well. Any irritating dryness in the air is efficiently hydrated and I'm happy to report both myself and my baby boy's coughs and dry throats have completely vanished. It looks fab and has a good length cable also so no extention lead needed. Great sized water container so less refills, has the simplest on off butfon anyone could wish for. Very well written instruction manual but its that easy to use i dont think it would be needed. Over all it worked brilliantly my children suffer with astma and regularly get chest infections so they chests start to rustle when the heating is on and the air is dry but since putting this humidifier on when i have the heating on they are totally diffrent. Arvosana 5/5[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the cold weather back with us we have crancked up the central heating, which in turn leaves me, the wife and kids with dry throats and headaches, especially in the mornings. Previously the only option open to us was to leave a window open to let fresh air in, kinda defeats the point of central heating though! The dehumidifier, changed all that though. Straight out if the box we were impressed with the size, design and weight of the unit, it happily sat in the lounge and bedroom and did not look out of place. The noise the machine emmits is minimal and after a while you hardly know it's there. We found this the case for high and low settings. The biggest benefit though is the improvement in the air quality in the house. No more headaches or dry throats in the morning and no more having to open the windows. There were no damp patches where the humidifier stood and no feeling that the room was full of moisture either. I would say to anyone that sufferes with sore throats or headaches in dry conditions to definitely make this a priority purchase. Arvosana 5/5[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The reason for getting this Air Humidifier was mainly because I have a young child in the house, under a year old. As children tend to do he was picking up every bug going which resulted in a few instances of him having a very dry, persistent cough. This led to a grumpy, tired baby and grumpy, tired parents. We had tried everything we could think of to make the air in his room less dry: damp towels on warm radiators, bowls of hot water dotted around the room, anything to put a bit of moisture in the air. But, with the radiators on, the room soon became warm and dry again. And so we turned to the Philips Series 2000 Air humidifier. We hadn’t used a humidifier before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Initial thoughts: It looks great. The design is sleek and modern and wouldn’t look out of place in any modern home. Its cylinder shape means it will slot into the corner of any room, easily unnoticed if you wish. It stands at about a foot tall (as an estimate, I haven’t measured it). Preparation: I followed the instructions, having not used one before, but to be honest I probably didn’t need to as it is so easy to use straight out the box. It unscrews about half way down, you fill the bottom half (the tank) with water, making sure not to go above the limit line and screw the top back on. That’s it. Plug it in and you’re good to go. Use: There are two settings, depending on the output you want (i.e. low/high). Once you turn it on you’ll probably check you actually did turn it on– because it barely makes a sound! It is therefore perfect to have in anyone’s bedroom (or in any room) but especially that of a young baby. As well as being quiet, it isn’t visibly doing much either – I was half expecting big plumes of steam, setting off smoke alarms! But this was not the case at all. It isn’t an exaggeration to say it almost invisibly goes about its job. Results: The first night we used it the improvement in our little one was dramatic. From having a bunged up and coughing baby the night before, be was breathing noticeably easier and barely stirring. We were a bit sceptical and probably put it down to luck at first as we couldn’t believe it would have such a difference. But every night we’ve used it we’ve had a soundly sleeping baby! I’m willing to give credit where it is due. I’ve noticed a difference too when I’ve had it in our room. When you’re bunged up a tried and tested method is to sit in a bathroom and fill the room with steam or to get a bowl of hot water and lean your head over it with a towel covering your head. And that provides temporary relief. Using this humidifier seems to have the same effect – it’s more gradual but it’s long lasting (and you don’t get a face full of steam). But mainly this has definitely helped my son who has suffered with his chest and sinus' since having bronchitis. We found after about 3 hours of putting the humidifier on he really did ease. I would definitely recommend it to any person who suffers with chest or sinus issues. Plus it cleans the air too. With the weather getting colder the central heating is on a lot more which drys the air out. Every winter without fail I get dry hands which is down to the air being so dry and since using the air humidifier I have noticed that my hands do not have dry patches and are generally healthier looking. The air humidifier is very easy to set up and use and it isn't noisy which means the kids can still have an uninterrupted sleep.
