    Amazing picture for football

Had this a couple of weeks now, bought to replace an LG Nano which had blown up (taking a window pane with it).

Had reservations on the price but the uplift in everything has justified the spend.

Looks amazing mounted in my recess with thin bezel.

The upscale picture and motion when watching FHD football is the best I’ve had on any TV ever.

Sound is punchy even without connection to SONOS set up.

I’m yet to dive into Apps and other features but I rarely use those on any TV

Having been LG or Samsung for years I’m now a SONY convert for the future

Badly let down by live TV

Superlative picture in all respects when source is not terrestrial TV. Good sound for a TV and very responsive. Remote difficult to understand due symbology set. Badly let down by the live TV receiver. Picture quality on live TV including HD BBC and ITV is not even as good as our cheap Hisense 43” QLED and miles short of our old 65” Panasonic OLED. Panasonic remote is also easier to use. Disappointed especially given price and previous experience with Sony

Not as good as I expected

The main reason I bought this TV for the sound, based on specs from the manufacturer it has a feature that enhances dialogue but to be honest its not really noticeable and as for the enhanced sound feature that uses the screen to create clearer sound overall, meh! It's ok but nothing more.

    a little disappointed

so many settings without a clear description.

What would be useful is a test screen and audio sample so that users can assess each change as they make it.

Also needed is a simple setup guide in written hard copy.

I still have not optimised the settings, do not get anywhere near the display and sound shown in the retail outlets.

    MR

I am no fan of the XR processing except on movies and some streementd content. In general brightness is variable depending on csoiurce. HD terrestrial channels tends to be crush at the top end where faces see seem vague and pasty. The tone mapping does not allow for any file perspective making the scene look very flat. This can even be the case with Adv Contrast turned off. During 7 months of use I experienced the following problems, video out of sync with audio problems. The network card card kept losing connection with the router on turn on from standby. Streaming platforms like BBC I-Player and You tube would streaming would error. with message Ooops, there has been a problem. The regularity of this increased . Lastly following a software update about 4 or 5 days later the audio TV Speakers output failed. The mainboard was replaced about 10 days ago. So far the pictuture and performance seems to have improved. However, the picture still suffers from motion judder at random or the picture motion is smooth but rolling titles judder. However, last night movie viewing was very good. In short your product costs a lot but is hard work and fails to meet expectations most of the time. VERY POOR!!!

    Best TV today

Picture and sound faultless couldn’t ask for more. Better overall picture than the RGBs they’re too bright and Hank depth of colour. The QD is a much richer experience.

Packaging. Disappointed as there was no screen film to remove despite having the two blue tags in place. There was however two white labels glued to the screen that had one requiring a lot of work to remove the glue.

Remote Control. Why two? Why so small? My old remote was far better and had more space for real fingers. However.

Overall I would say this is the best television Sony have made to date. And I do hope they continue the Oled and not focus on the RGBs

    New replacement tv

I had to replace my old Sony TV due to a six flashing red light fault. I bought a new Sony 55" oled, when it arrived the legs at each end were too wide for my TV unit, I was amazed to see that the legs were fixed at each end, and not adjustable!. So I had to buy extra legs to accommodate.

The picture is ok, wish I could go back and pick another Sony tv with a different standing legs.

Remotes not illuminated, but over all a great tv

So far, so good! I had to buy a stand for it as the wide spaced feet are completely impractical unless you have a bench a mile long to stand it on or unless you wall mount it. Disappointing that the remotes are not illuminated. Also would be nice if the collection of clip on plastic covers for the back would include a couple for where the regular stand normally attaches just to finish the neatening!

I have only just come back to Sony, I had Sony televisions a long time ago but moved to Samsung as the Sony picture quality wasn't great in those days. Now, Samsung products generally are unreliable and Sony have upped their game.

    A stunning TV

Replaced my LG 55" thats only 5 years old with this 65" Sony. After reading many reviews I decided to buy this through Richer Sounds and I've been very impressed by the picture quality and ease of navigating the menus. UHD looks fantastic, the colours are vibrant. The calibrated Netflix and Prime settings are fantastic. Can't comment on the sound as i use a sonos arc. Had to play around with sound settings to get dolby back through the Arc but all working well.

Plus it looks a beautiful TV on the wall.

Prepare to have your breath taken away

Brightness is probably not as good as the Bravia 9 Mark i but the colour is much better. Contrast, uniformity and picture quality is breath-taking. I come from a Panasonic GX800 which in my view was the best TV of its class and I almost didnt upgrade its thats good. So why buy the Bravia 8 ii - Firstly the new Bravia 9 Mark iis are a real disappointment - as much as Sony tout RGB every review I have read rates the Bravia 8 ii better. Now to be clear, when you most TV and movies what you are getting is best in class picture quality but to be honest that not really a good enpugh reason to upgrade. However, if you watch any series or movie made in the last twenty years that really takes advantage of HDR and colour then you are quite simply seeing a whole new World. Even with a 4k BBC Detectorists its like looking through a particularly beautiful piece of glass that just accentuates in all the right places. It's upscaling is either stunning or ok depending on whether you come from a TV that isn't very good in that department or like me from a Panasonic GX800 that upscales almost as beautifully. Responsiveness in terms of the start menus are pretty poor but you can turn some things off - set it up as "app only" and start times are reduced. Additionally and annoyingly external hard drives will have extra folders added to them - shame on you Sony for not sorting that one out - However, with a bit of fiddling of VLC (an added app) you can get things to show up as you wish. Sound is not exactly to die for but then you really should be using a better sound system with this TV - it really deserves it. Back to the picture - with much content I'm still in awe at the balance - it reminds of the Sony A95L - when you look at a G5 or G6 they are just overly bright at the expense of accuracy and colour. Samsung are to my eye overly processed and TCL and Hisense are great budget TVs but dont get anywhere near the so so pleasant processing beauty of the Bravia 8 ii. I am a migraine sufferer so I am very sensitive to all kinds of issues with TVs - The Bravia 8 ii is an absolute wonder and ironically I'm not disappointed about not buying a Bravia 9 Mark ii because most reviewers think the Bravia 8 mark ii is still the one to beat

Only one bit of constructive feedback

Functionality is better than expected and the App Store actually works (unlike our last TV). Really easy to use and set up but comes with 2 remote controls with slightly different functionality.

My main gripe was in measuring the position and depth of the legs as they did not allow the TV to sit on our custom made TV stand. We had to buy universal legs to attach to the back middle of the unit, which are uglier and make the TV sit higher than the original legs did. This also makes the TV less universally suitable.

Arjen luksusta, se on niin SoNy

Edellinen jo 17 v palvellut Sonyn lippulaiva alkoi osoittaa väsymisen merkkejä ja samaan aikaan tuli tieto että Sony on päättänyt lopettaa televisioiden valmistuksen, joten päädyin päivittämään tähän mestariteoksen. Kuvanlaatu 5/5, kiitos myös Samsung-paneelin. Ohut, riittävästi liitäntöjä ja helppo käyttöliittymä. Laatua vaivattomasti kuten Sinulla aina. Television äänenlaadusta lisäpisteitä! Ei jaksa edes erillistä äänijärjestelmää käynnistää!

    Fantastic Picture

This Sony TV is a replacement for a 16 year old Panasonic Viera Plasma TV which was rated as having the best picture quality at the time. I have been amazed by the picture on the new Sony TV - there are so many more colours! The sound without a sound bar is also excellent, very clear without being overbearing.

Sony Excellence – The Perfect Upgrade!

After having a media wall built, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to upgrade and upsize our existing Sony TV. To be honest, there was never really any doubt we’d stick with Sony – the picture quality and reliability have always been outstanding. The only decision was which model to choose.

We settled on the Sony Bravia 8 II 65-inch, and we’re absolutely delighted with it. The picture quality is simply breathtaking, with incredible detail, vibrant colours and deep blacks that make every film and TV programme a pleasure to watch.

Paired with the Sony Theatre Bar 9 soundbar, the whole experience is nothing short of cinematic. The immersive sound and stunning visuals genuinely make you feel like you’re sitting in a luxury cinema, all from the comfort of your own home.

If you’re considering upgrading your home entertainment system, we couldn’t recommend this combination highly enough. An exceptional TV that has exceeded all our expectations.
