This Sony E-mount lens offers professional-level performance even in challenging conditions. Durable construction, advanced optical design, and optical image stabilization ensure high-quality images. Quiet and precise autofocus enables capturing fast-moving subjects in sports, nature, and aviation photography situations.

Body and optical design:

Sigma has used a new optical design where unique low-dispersion elements are placed at the front of the lens. This allows for a compact and lightweight structure as well as excellent performance by minimizing reflections.
The 20-element construction in 14 groups includes three FLD and two SLD elements, effectively preventing glare and reflections while improving image sharpness.
The lens body is made from thermally stabilized composite and magnesium, making it durable and dust- and splash-resistant. A water- and oil-repellent coating has also been added to the front to protect against dirt.

OS2 optical image stabilizer:

Sigma's OS2 algorithm offers up to 5 stops of image stabilization. Together with its compact size, this makes the lens an excellent choice for handheld shooting. You can shoot with longer shutter speeds without sacrificing image sharpness.
Two stabilization modes: Mode 1 for general shooting and Mode 2 with Sigma’s intelligent OS algorithm. This mode is suitable for panning and sports photography, as it effectively stabilizes the image even when the camera moves vertically or diagonally.

HLA autofocus system:

The new HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) focus motor brings unprecedented speed, accuracy, and quietness to Sigma autofocus.
HLA also improves subject tracking in sports photography and other fast-moving subjects such as cars, airplanes, or flying birds. This ensures you don’t miss the important moment.
