The Lenovo ThinkPad T490s is a thin, lightweight laptop designed for professionals. The chassis, just over 16 mm thick and weighing 1.3 kg, is made of magnesium and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic, making it sturdy, durable, and light. All ThinkPads are tested with 21 different MIL-STD standard methods to perform under harsh conditions.

Intel's 8th generation quad-core processors offer more performance for demanding office tasks. Two USB-C ports, one of which supports Thunderbolt 3 technology, provide versatile connectivity options and docking solutions. The ThinkPad T490s includes a TCG-certified TPM 2.0 security chip, fingerprint reader, smart card reader, lock slot, and a ThinkShutter camera cover that physically blocks the webcam.
