The GI‑55C is, first and foremost, impeccably cyan. It maintains its chromatic identity with a level of discipline rarely seen outside military parades or highly trained parrots. When poured into the printer, it flows with a calm, measured confidence, as though fully aware of its role in the grand CMYK hierarchy. It neither splashes nor sulks; it simply proceeds, like a civil servant who has accepted that paperwork is eternal.

In use, the cyan behaves with admirable restraint. It does not attempt to dominate the page, nor does it fade into timidity. Instead, it offers a steady, dependable blueness — the sort of hue that would make a Mediterranean holiday brochure nod approvingly. I have noticed no attempts by the ink to escape the bottle, reorganise itself into committees, or form breakaway factions. This is reassuring, as cyan is traditionally the colour most likely to develop revolutionary tendencies if left unsupervised.

The bottle itself is a pleasing object: businesslike, unfussy, and shaped in a way that suggests it could, in an emergency, be used as a small percussion instrument. The cap fits securely, giving the impression that Canon has taken steps to prevent the cyan from leaking into neighbouring dimensions. I appreciate this. One never wants to discover that one’s ink has seeped into Vemmoid or begun haunting the loft.

I have, of course, followed all safety warnings and have not drunk any of the cyan, despite its faint resemblance to certain sports beverages. I have also resisted the temptation to use it as a tincture, a marinade, or a ritual pigment for warding off rabid squirrels. The bottle cap, however, may yet be repurposed as a charm against minor household misfortunes, such as misplaced teaspoons or unexpected gastropods.

Overall, the GI‑55C is a model of cyan professionalism. It prints cleanly, behaves itself, and has not once attempted to unionise. I consider this a success.I am happy with it - in general.
