Good things shouldn't be changed, but there's always room for improvement. The Sony α7R IV's 61-megapixel effectively stabilized sensor captures 14-bit raw images and oversampled 4K video with a high bit rate. In video recording, you can also take advantage of Sony's phenomenal Eye AF focusing.

The camera can be controlled via Wi-Fi from a computer, enabling a high-resolution mode based on 240-megapixel pixel shift. If needed, the camera transfers images to an FTP server in the background without interrupting shooting. The large and significantly sharper OLED viewfinder also pleases the eye with a 120 fps refresh rate.

The a-version of the A7R IV camera includes an updated rear screen. The screen resolution has increased from 1.44 million pixels to 2.36 million pixels.
