The Nanny additional mattress is necessary when the sensor mattress that comes with the Nanny cradle monitor starts to become too small as the child grows. The additional mattress for the Nanny cradle monitor is connected to the existing mattress and the cradle monitor. The additional mattress is the same size as the original sensor mattress of the Nanny cradle monitor, effectively doubling the monitored surface area.
