Great experience
Arvosana 5/5It’s a shame I didn’t see the value in the camera, I love canon and the experience though thank you
I am so pleased with my EOS R
Arvosana 5/5I bought my EOS R nearly three years ago now to replace my trusty EOS 6D.
At that time, it came at that time with the RF 24 -105 F4 L kit lens which was a good start for me in getting used to the new EOS R system.
I use my EOS R mainly for holiday landscape, macro (flowers) and the odd Milky Way photos and it's just right for me, giving excellent results every time.
It feels just perfect to hold no matter what lens I have fitted. (Some mirror less cameras just looked way too small).
The flip screen and EVF are both brilliant to use with excellent clarity.
There are a few buttons to get used too but once you are familiar with them it just adds to the simplicity of using the camera.
Fortunately for me Canon has not introduced any new camera to tempt me to part with my EOS R which has allowed me to extend my range of RF lenses ranging now from 15 - 400mm.
The 30MP sensor is just right with manageable file sizes and excellent sharp images.
This is a superb (and great value) camera from Canon.

Great camera
Arvosana 5/5Great camera which captures lovely pictures and beautiful handling
Loistava hybridikamera videotuotantoon
Arvosana 5/5Näin kuukauden jälkeen ostosta voin suositella kameraa lämpimästi videoiden ja valokuvien vakaville harrastajille sekä freelance kuvaajille. - 15c pakkasessa akun kesto noin 5 tuntia 1080p ALL-I 24fps. 720p 120fps on laadultaan parempaa mitä halvempien kameroiden 1080p. Rungon ergonomia on erittäin hyvä ja mahdollisuus ladata kameraa ulkoisesta virtalähteestä usd-c kaapelilla on mukava bonus ominaisuus. Digitaalinen kuvanvakaus yhdessä objektiivin vakauksen kanssa toimii erinomaisesti ja vakauttaa videot mainiosti, jopa reippaassa kävelyssä. Mahdollisuus valita joko IPB tai ALL-I formaatti kaikilla resoluutioilla helpottaa editointia varsinkin ALL-I formaatilla kuvatessa.
SentexM, 25–34vGreat Pictures and a lousy User Interface
Arvosana 3/5I first bought a Canon FTb SLR camera in 1975, so I guess I am a good Canon customer. Given its size, I have been using a G5X for climbing expeditions and a 70D SLR otherwise. The results were good and I really liked the user interface. However, my experience with the EOS R is mixed.
The EOS R can certainly take good pictures and I am happy with the resolution, noise level and dynamic range, but I am bitterly disappointed with the layout of the controls. After all, the quality of a picture is immaterial if you didn't manage to take it, and I don't find the R easy to use at all. Having clearly marked buttons as are available on Canon SLRs makes them easy to use, whereas on the R, choosing the focus point, auto-focus mode and so on I get wrong half the time. Thus, I would only recommend this camera with reservations. Moreover, neither the R5 nor R6 is a reasonable replacement. The R5 looks wonderful, but at a very high price, and the R6 has much lower resolution and no top-plate display, which I find very useful. Thus, I have been at a loss as to understand who Canon see as their customer base.
One final comment. Much is made about the size and weight of mirrorless cameras, but this really is hype. By the time you screw in a lens, the difference in weight is negligible.
