Hycin toimii valija sytyttäen. Miinuksena se, että itse tunnistimen tunnistinosaa (tuota valkoista) ei voi käännellä. Sen vuoksi on hyvin tarkkaa mihin tunnistin täytyy sijoittaa, että ei ota liikettä naapurin pihalla, mutta toimii omalla pihalla.
