So far works well. I like the well thought out package includes the rinse cup, hard box, safety guard, mirror and spare blades. Gives a nice even cut (down to a slight stubble) and not had any problems with irritation, rash etc which is helpful. It’s a nice shaver, easy to use, and around six weeks in, very happy. Still to charge it, so battery life has been very good.

This is by far the best and smoothest head shaver I've had. I use it for wet shave in the shower and it works just perfect !

It cuts fine for me, but I don't require a close shave or a bald head, so I may not be a typical user? I just require stubble on my head and the unshaven look on my face.

As regards cleaning, I find it needs to have the full clean each time, as just opening and washing/brushing it doesn't work for me. Even after using the supplied tub first, there is far too much hair still trapped, thus requiring a full strip and clean of the nozzles and cutters, etc.

Also, the instructions could be somewhat clearer, as to the best way to split open the head assembly without damaging anything. I finally risked using a thin plastic spatula in the gap and gently rotating it. This works fine, but a bit more information regarding this procedure could prove helpful to new owners.

Bought this 26 of August 2026 It gives a closer More head friendly shave than the Remington that I replaced . It's quiet in operation And gentle on my head . It's easy to use in either position in either hand .

I would give the extra star if this appliance had a display showing what was left in the battery. I think it's the only thing missing.

I bought this head shaver because I totally trust Philips products and it hasn't let me down. It really does shave nearly as close as a blade providing you clean it after each use and use it every day. The run life is really good and the charging time is great. The only thing I would say this shaver needs is a battery percentage indicator instead of just an indicator light when it needs charging. Good product for not really a great deal of money.

Good piece of kit gives you a real close shave. Replacement blades very expensive hence 1 star deducted.

This is a terrible head shaver. Its big, bulky and slow. I bought this to replace a Remington rx7 that started having issues and have been using it for the last 8 months or so. I was happy to see this has the same plug as my Philips beard trimmer but that was where the happiness ended. This shaver is so painfully slow, and if you happen to miss a day of shaving it takes even longer. I shave in the shower and my hot water bills increased significantly after getting this shaver due to how long it takes! Yesterday i bought a Remington xr8000 and just had my first head shave after a few nights away and it feels a closer shave and it was much much faster than anything this Philips had produced since owning it. The Remington was so good it compelled me to write this review and throw away the Philips after only 8 months of use. To top it off the Remington will now replace my beard trimmer as well as it comes with a very usable beard trimmer attachment including different size and adjustable combs (and the most useful of my Philips ones broke!). Don't buy this head shaver. If you've had a Remington before, this will leave you frustrated and out of pocket. If you've always used Philips, give a Remington a shot and you will not be disappointed

Easy to use. Sadly you'll need a small straight shaver to get contours that this shaver can't access to cut. Only down side. Cuts hair shorter then 3mm, with nice smooth finish

I use the head shaver in the shower which results in a really close shave. I only shave my head so the battery is lasting ages and the cutters will not need changing for three years!

I purchased this as a replacement for another well known brand which I had trouble sourcing new heads for. The 5000 model was not much more expensive than a new head for my old shaver would have cost. The Phillips performed easily as well as my old model but with the benefit of far less skin irritation. My only regret is not having spent a little more on the 7000 model , as it comes with a nice storage bag and has a longer run time (the 5000 bag is pretty useless).

Overall I would definitely recommend the Phillips Head Shaver Pro series.

Have tried a few this year, decided to spend a little more after the others fell apart when trying to clean. Easy to clean, battery lasts about 10 days after using it everyday, quick to charge. Premium travel case. Nice bit of kit.

I have used cheaper head shavers and I must admit that was false economy, the Philips head shaver is the best I have used , it gives a nice clen shave , the travel case is perfect , I took this on a motorcycle touring holiday and it stayed safe. it is easy to clean and charges quickly. the added bonus is the spare heads you get in the box. the unit is weighted just right . I love it

It is a great tool. It is easy to use, very effective and holds its charge well. Being able to use wet or dry is an extra-useful element too.

I'm generally very impressed with the build quality, it's as I expected from Philips at this price range. The cut is very good, consistent and comfortable. Not cuts or NICs on my scalp.

However, when removing the head to clean, if I hold it upsidedown, all of the blades and blade covers fall out into the bin. I really don't expect this to happen, they should stay in place to allow brushing and a light tapping to remove hair before rinsing. After picking out the blades and blade covers from the bin a few times I have stopped doing this but I stress, I should be able to. I was able to do this with a former Remington.

To finish on a positive, the battery life is superb, the washing station/bath is useful and the extra blades with the packaging are very welcome.

It's ok , I use it to shave my head but still can't get a close shave, if you have any advice

This is a perfect Shaver for me, does exactly what I want from it, this mid range product is excellent, would recommend.

This is a very good head shaver,it keeps the head well shaved and is easy to use

Really good. Comfrotable to use, shaves well and battery lasts well. Never going to be as smooth as a wet shave but you can;t cut your head with this and its a lot more comfortable to use than clippers. I'm using it every 2 days or if I need a quick shave before going out.

We'll see hwo the shaver head last but I'm loving using this at the moment.

Having used a rival head shaver for 3 years and being disappointed with it, having swapped to Phillips and at half the price I've been impressed how it cuts, the length of battery charge and the length of time the blade's lasted.

This is the best head shaver I have owned, I had persuaded myself that the cheaper ones are just as good , but the difference is amazing, for the first time ever, friends actually commented on how close a shave I had.

Not as good as a bladed wet shave but much more convenient, the charge lasts a good while and the cleaning bath is a great idea.

I would certainly have no doubts about recommending this head shaver

I had a different brand that was tricky to clean out, I thought this one, that had some good reviews would be better and easier to clean out.

It's that bad performing, I have gone back to using my old one.

You have to go over the same spot 3-4 times to get it to shave, and I am fully aware that it is meant for short growth. I am using it only after around 2 days interval.

I found it didn’t perform as expected and was noisy.

I’ve used Philips products in the past so had no concerns about buying this. I usually wet shave my head and was looking for a quick and easy alternative, bought this based on reviews and reputation. To be honest I wish I hadn’t, whether it was me or not I don’t know but it took a long time, was awkward to use, was difficult to move smoothly, noisy, and left my head patchy. On the plus side it didn’t take long to charge.
