Selectable Game Modes: Classic and Enhanced

The remaster allows players to choose between two game modes. This way, everyone can experience the story and battles exactly as they want: either faithful to the original experience or with modern improvements.

Classic: This mode is aimed at purists and nostalgics. It replicates the feel of the original 1997 version as faithfully as possible. The interface and game pacing remain almost unchanged, the difficulty level is similar to the original, and players face the same challenges as those who played the first version back in the day. Classic mode is a genuine piece of gaming history.
Enhanced: This mode offers a modern take on the classic. Clearer menus, faster battles, auto-save, and “undo move” make gameplay smooth and approachable. Additionally, there are more flexible difficulty levels, such as Squire mode, which lowers the barrier for new players. Enhanced mode suits those who want to experience the story and tactics with modern conveniences without sacrificing strategic depth.

Tactics and Game Mechanics

Turn-based battles take place on grid maps where elevation, terrain, and positioning are decisive. The versatile job system opens up dozens of skill combinations: melee endurance, ranged magic, support, and control adapt according to your party’s roles. A rewarding loop emerges from long-term planning and skill synergies.

Story and Characters

War-torn Ivalice is torn between two factions. Ramza and Delita are drawn into the intrigues of power, church, and noble families, where loyalty, class differences, and the cost of choices are weighed chapter by chapter. Political drama and personal twists drive the story forward without unnecessary filler scenes.

Final Fantasy Tactics – Legacy

Final Fantasy Tactics is a milestone in tactical role-playing games: a multi-layered political plot, strong characters, and a unique job system have made it a long-lasting favorite. This remastered release opens the classic to new players and offers veterans a refined way to experience Ivalice’s iconic battles anew.
