Vanha DS214+ alkoi oireilemaan hitaudellaan, joten päätin päivittää tämän 12 vuotta vanhan DS925+ asemaan. Vanhasta otin noin 5 vuotta sitten asentamani Western Digitalin 4 x 10 TB kiintolevyt ja hyvin otti uusi asema ne vastaan. Ei siellä mitään Synologyn estoja tullut vastaan. Eikä vaatinut mitään ylimääräisiä temppuja. Kaikki data siirtyi uuteen ympäristöön vaivatta.

Nopeus on nyt aivan uudella tasolla 2,5 GbE -verkkoportittien ansiosta, mikä on iso etu suurten tiedostojen, kuten videoprojektien, käsittelyssä. Mainiota on myös kaksi M.2 NVMe SSD -asemapaikkaa lisätallennustilan saamiseksi. USB:n kautta olen yhdistänyt Diskstationin myös ICY BOXiin, jossa on 4 x4 TB tallennustilaa. Tämä vapauttaa kallisarvoisen USB-portin Mac Mini Pro M4:stä, jossa liitännät loppuvat aina kesken.

Synologyn DiskStation Manager (DSM) on vakaanoloinen ja helppokäyttöinen käyttöjärjestelmä.

Lisäksi laite on miellyttävän hiljainen.
