Verkkokauppa.com analyzed Finnish shopping habits – these are the surprising products people are bringing home this Christmas

Dyson, air fryers, advent calendars, LEGO®, and Pokémon. These are just some of the keywords trending in the search engine of Finland's most popular online store in 2024. Verkkokauppa.com analyzed this year's product data to understand Finnish shopping habits and predict the most wanted Christmas gifts.

Have you heard of water flossers? Thousands of Finns have already bought one this year, according to Verkkokauppa.com product data.

To find out which products truly captured interest this year, Verkkokauppa.com analyzed its lists of the most searched, viewed, and popular items*.

The world's top coffee-consuming nation lived up to its reputation in Verkkokauppa.com’s statistics, as caffeinated energy drinks from Red Bull, Monster Energy, and NOCCO joined Paulig Juhlamokka multipacks in the top five most popular products late in the year.

The top ten products of 2024 included the Apple 20W USB-C charger, the classic Mr Muskelknutte Air Duster, and the affordable Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 64 GB flash drive.

As Christmas approaches, the LEGO Botanical Wreath, Samsung Galaxy A15, TP-LINK Tapo C520WS security camera, and the Ströme Fluffy heated blanket have climbed the popularity charts.

The sixth most searched term of the year was "advent calendar," which trends earlier each season. The Pokémon TCG advent calendar also made the list of most popular Christmas products.

Apple AirPods and PlayStation 5 continue their success – one TV size stands out from the rest

Two items appeared across all lists of the year's most viewed, searched, and popular products: the 2nd generation Apple AirPods Pro and the PlayStation 5 (including Slim, Digital Edition, and Fortnite models). The newly released PS5 Pro also showed strong performance in the statistics.

A warm summer and the enduring popularity of revolutionary air fryers shaped the year's most viewed products. Standout appliances included the Ströme 12C air conditioner, Princess Aerofryer Oven, OBH Nordica Versatile multi-cooker, and Kärcher SE 6.100 carpet cleaner.

The data shows that 55-inch screens are the top choice for Finns. Three budget-friendly 55-inch models made the top 10 most viewed products of the year: the LG UR78, Samsung DU7172, and ProCaster 55ST901H. The Samsung LFF3C The Freestyle Full HD projector also ranked among the top items.

Snow blowers are the year's surprise hit

Lumen luontia helpottavat Statt Avalanche S4000- ja S6000-lumilingot keräsivät vuoden aikana yhteensä yli 50 000 sivuvierailua, ja S4000-malli nousi loppuvuodesta koko valikoiman viidenneksi katselluimmaksi tuotteeksi.

Verkkokauppa.comin joulukoristeista suomalaisia kiinnosti eniten Enne North Pine -joulukuusi, jonka lisäksi suosituimpien tuotteiden listalle kirivät loka-marraskuun aikana mm. useamman tölkkijuoman syövä Blackstorm-minijääkaappi sekä Fiskars All Steel Pure -paistinpannu. Kotimaisen Fiskarsin valmistamat yleissakset valikoituivat myös Verkkokauppa.comin asiantuntijoiden tärppilistalle.

Joulun 2024 suosituimpien herkkujen kärjessä koreilevat Vihreiden kuulien ohella Karl Fazerin Maitosuklaa- sekä Geisha-suklaakonvehdit, jotka jatkavat suomalaisten kestosuosikkeina. Verkkokauppa.comin tuotearvostelujen perusteella suklaan ystävien mieleen olivat lisäksi lähes täydet viisi tähteä keränneet Anthon Berg Diplomat -suklaakonvehdit.

Älykelloista Verkkokauppa.comin asiantuntijat arvioivat vuoden parhaaksi syksyllä julkaistun Apple Watch 10 -kellon. Ylivoimaisesti parhaaksi urheilukelloksi valikoitui Garmin Fenix 8, alle 200 euron hintaluokassa pisteet vei Nothing Watch ja sukelluskellojen ykkönen oli Suunto Ocean. Vuoden suosituimpien tuotteiden listalle kello-kategoriasta selvisi Garmin Forerunner 955 -urheilukello.

Vuoden haetuimmat tuotteet tarkistettiin aikajaksolta 1.1.–4.12.2024. Kaikki tiedotteessa mainitut tuotteet listautuivat vähintään top-listojen sijoille 1-50.
