Verkkokauppa.com donated 300 pet beds to the Helsinki Society for the Protection of Animals

In August, the Helsinki Society for Animal Protection (HESY) received a boost when Verkkokauppa.com donated 300 pet beds that were unfit for sale due to quality defects. The beds are now available at a discount through the HESY shop, with all proceeds going directly toward helping homeless animals.
Poppy & Piper dog beds are part of Verkkokauppa.com’s extensive range of pet supplies, which also includes food, toys, and health products.
“We sell these beds in several sizes, but this batch of XXL beds arrived at our warehouse with less filling than usual. Because of this, we couldn't sell them ourselves,” says Verkkokauppa.com’s Product Manager for pet supplies, Miiri Ylönen.
Despite the filling defect, the beds were warmly welcomed by both HESY’s dogs and the shop’s customers. This latest donation continues the long-standing partnership between HESY and Verkkokauppa.com.
“We donate all expired but usable food and unsold pet supplies to HESY. Through this collaboration, we want to do our part in supporting the association’s work and animal welfare,” Ylönen continues.
HESY collects suitable pet supplies for donation from the Verkkokauppa.com warehouse approximately every two months.
“It is vital to us that our products meet a real need and are long-lasting, whether they are sold or donated. A big thank you to the Helsinki Society for Animal Protection—thanks to our cooperation, these beds didn't go to waste and are being put to good use where the need is greatest,” says Verkkokauppa.com’s Sustainability Manager, Johanna Stenbäck.
