Verkkokauppa.com launches express delivery to moving locations

Known for its one-hour express deliveries, Verkkokauppa.com is introducing even more flexible shipping with the launch of a new delivery method: Mobile Express Delivery.
With this new delivery method, Verkkokauppa.com aims to serve customers who need products fast but don't have time to wait at home. Mobile Express Delivery delivers orders to the customer's current location—whether it's along a walking route, to a car, or even onto a tram.
Following a successful pilot in the Helsinki metropolitan area from January to March, the company is now launching the service in all its store locations: Helsinki, Pirkkala, Raisio, and Oulu.
"The service has performed exceptionally well, and feedback on the new delivery method has been almost entirely positive. Our customers have been particularly pleased with the couriers' creative solutions for delivering packages," says the company's Brand and Communications Manager Lauri Kutila.
"While most packages have been handed over at traffic lights, fully mobile deliveries have also been successful. So far, we've completed deliveries to crowded morning metros, departing trams, and even the deck of a cruise ship."
Verkkokauppa.com has collaborated with home delivery services, local public transport, and the Police to launch Mobile Express Delivery. This smooth cooperation enabled a rapid rollout. The company has also entered negotiations with Finnair and VR to further expand the service.
"At Verkkokauppa.com, we understand today's busy schedules and that waiting at home for a package isn't always an option. We are targeting Finns with active lifestyles and expect sailors and skiers, among others, to embrace this new delivery method. This coming summer, we might even see the first delivery made on Linnanmäki's traditional wooden roller coaster," Kutila says with a grin.
Mobile Express Delivery will launch in the vicinity of all Verkkokauppa.com stores starting April 1, 2025. The company aims to complete 10,000 mobile deliveries by the end of 2025 and gradually expand the service across Finland.
