10 Moves Exercise Challenge
Children's activity levels have dropped during these exceptional times. We want to help parents get their kids active and inspired to move again. Take on the 10 Moves exercise challenge with the whole family!
Children's activity levels have significantly decreased during the pandemic. This was revealed in a major study conducted in Kauniainen, which examined the effects of smart devices on preschoolers and their families. Encouraging children to stay active became a challenge when hobby venues closed. According to the study, children's daily step counts decreased by an average of 25% during the COVID-19 crisis. We want to help children rediscover the joy of movement. Together with Xplora, we challenge both children and adults to the 10 Moves challenge! The ten basic movements in the challenge provide a versatile workout and improve body control. The exercises are safe and use your own body weight. They have been designed in collaboration with youth sports coaches and a physiotherapist. About the study
Over 70 families from Kauniainen participated in the survey. As part of the study, the families' preschool-aged children were given Xplora smartwatch phones. Data from the pedometers shows that children's daily step counts decreased by an average of 25% during the COVID-19 crisis. The spread of the virus occurred toward the end of the three-month study period.
