Great Printer nice Prints

Great printer. Easy to set up and excellent prints

Having used the Canon imagePROGRAF Pro 1000 for a decade, I can confidently say it has been an exceptional printer. Throughout those ten years, I never once experienced blocked inkjet nozzles, and the quality of the prints consistently impressed me.

Upgrading to the PRO-1100

When Canon launched a promotion on the imagePROGRAF PRO-1100, I decided it was the right moment to upgrade to the latest model. So far, my experience has been extremely positive. The PRO-1100 has lived up to its reputation, widely regarded as the best A2 printer currently available.

Performance and Print Quality

One of the standout features of the PRO-1100 is its completely reengineered set of inks. The new inks deliver outstanding image quality, ensuring that every print meets the highest standards. I also had the opportunity to try out the Canon Premium Fine Art Rough paper for the first time. The results on this paper were nothing short of stunning, with the prints looking truly remarkable.

Recommendation

If you are considering purchasing a new large format A2 printer, I strongly recommend giving Canon a try. Based on my experience, you will not be disappointed.

Noin kuukauden printannut monenlaisille paperille ja monen kokoisia printtejä. Kuvien laatu aina todella hyvä. Printtien kustannukset myös kohtuulliset ja kulut näkee Canonin äpillä kätevästi. A2 printit n.5€ ja A4 reilusti alle euron (molemmissa tapauksissa laadukas paperi isoin kulu). (Ja tuntuu että muste kuluu todella hitaasti harrastelija käytössä). Asennus ohje kannattaa lukea tarkkaan ja prosessiin varata aikaa, mutta ei ollut mitenkään vaikeaa.

Kokonaisuutena olen todella tyytyväinen. Hinta-laatu suhteessa mietin vain 4 tähteä mutta kun mukana tulee täydet värikasetit ja ne riittää pitkään niin päätin antaa siitäkin täydet 5. Jos pritterille käyttöä tasaisesti niin suosittelen tätä printteriä. Muutti myös suhtautumista kuvaamiseen ja antoi uutta virtaa kuvaus harrastukselle. Käyttömukavuus -1 tähti mitättömästä näytöstä, jolla kyllä selviää ,mutta olisi voinut olla isompi kosketusnäyttö.

Excellent machine for portfolio or gallery prints up to an impressive A2 size. The colour rendering is excellent and probably unbeatable for impactful monochrome images. If you want a machine to produce multiple '7 x 5' snaps this is not the printer for you. The time taken to produce each print can run into several minutes by the time the photograph is ready. However, I wanted it for occasional portrait and landscape photographs so processing time is not really an issue for me, although I can get impatient to see the final results and it is a little annoying if your first attempt is not what you wanted.

So, print quality is excellent, albeit slow, but I have only given the printer 4 stars for the following reasons.

1. I have only had the printer a few weeks and have already experienced the printer just hanging mid print for no apparent reason, I am using the wifi connection so I may try a cable connection in case that is the issue even though there is no indication of connectivity issues. The printer has also ejected the paper after only printing 25% of the image - and there was nothing wrong with the image. I had to restart it and my computer and for now that seems to have cleared the issue. My main gripe is not that the unit glitched but that there was no error message either on the printer or sent back to my computer.
   
   
2. When originally setting up the printer, which was quite easy, the unit used a huge amount of the ink across all of the inks provided, I would estimate only 40 - 45% of the ink remained ready for use. To be fair I still have not had to order any new ink as of yet but that does seem excessive 'waste' of ink.
   
   
3. I'm not sure if I have made an error somewhere but I appear to have to set the paper type on both the printer and on the printer control on my computer, I would have thought setting the paper type on the PC would control the corresponding settings on the actual printer - any advice here would be appreciated.
   
   

To conclude, generally happy with the printer, but it's not perfect, and I am please I managed to buy it with a discount.

Huippuprintteri mikäli yksilö ei ole ns. maanantai-kappale. Itselläni käytössä nyt toinen vastaava tulostin, koska ensimmäisen kanssa taisteltiin 2,5kk ennen kuin se lähti Canon Euroopalle viallisena takaisin. Toinen yksilö toimii moitetteetta suurimman osan aikaa, mutta joskus printtijälki saattaa jättää toivomisen varaa. Voi olla, että tuoteiteraatioiden edetessä nämä lapsuksekset poistuvat tuotantoyksilöistä. Varovainen ostosuositus siis ihmisille, jotka haluavat oikeasti isoja printtejä. Toki kannattaa muistaa, että A2 tuloste on VALTAVA normaaliin kotiin.

Canon oma Professional Print Layout softa on varsin helppokäyttöinen, sille suositus.

Purchased to replace my Pro10s. I was always happy with the Pro10s and had used several over the years, however, I was excited for the upgrade in ink quality on the ImagePrograf, and the larger capacity cartridges.

Three things I am extremely disappointed about:

1 - I have to print EVERYTHING in high quality otherwise it prints with lines - frustrating given how expensive the inks are, and that standard quality setting suited most of my applications on the Pro10s.

2 - It is EXTREMELY slow (at least triple the print speed of the pro10s) and is quite noisy.

3 - While I obviously expect some ink to be used during the initial set up given that the tubes etc are empty, I was shocked that after the set up, the cartridges only had 30% ink remaining and the waste unit was 50% full. So I had to order refills very soon after purchase.

The colours do print beautifully which is why I increased my rating to two stars.
