I bought this 3 weeks ago. Installs easily once you upload the required app. Sound is better than the TV speakers but definitely lacks base. Also works with TV speakers as central speaker. Fits well in front and under my new Sony 65" TV (though that has had regular problems of its own). Bar has its own flat raised legs so sits over the TV legs with no wobbling. No assembly required. Plug the 3 wires and activate on the app. Don't like the material cover over the speaker section as that collects dust and makes moving or managing the bar difficult. Think of it as a way to improve your TV speaker sound. If you want more - you need the rest. I will be looking to get rear speakers and an amp as that is what i had before going down to this bar. Pity though, the rear speakers and amp are so expensive, it will be a while before i can invest in these. Small win, when i do get the extras - it will all be wireless so slightly less clutter with wires.

I was looking forward to receiving this soundbar and wanted it since launch. All was perfect for about a week then a whiney noise started to come from the bar, done all the required steps to reset, bought new cables etc but no joy.Went through the support chat which kept going round in a loop and would confirm an engineer would be required to visit and troubleshoot, not ideal but fine. When clicking through to proceed I kept getting a message to say I was out of warranty and they couldn’t assist. The only option was to return, this process is just as painful and frustrating.

Halusin jotain vähemmän tilaa vievää 2.1 viritinvahvistimen tilalle, jolla en juurikaan kuunnellut musiikkia Bluetooth yhteyden puutteen takia.

Tällä Spotifyn käyttö on naurettavan helppoa. Äänenlaatu on naksun verran huonompi vanhaan verrattuna mutta riittävän hyvä. Olen oikein tyytyväinen.

Päivitin tähän vanhemmasta HT-ST5000-setistä ja äänenlaatu itsessään on ollut erittäin vaikuttava. Erityisesti Dolby Atmos -sisällöllä tila ja äänen liike välittyvät hyvin jo ilman erillisiä takakaiuttimia. Soundbar reagoi kuitenkin erittäin paljon lähdemateriaaliin ja asetuksiin, joten suosittelen käyttämään aikaa säätöihin.

Käytän laitetta LG C2:n kanssa ilman BRAVIA-televisiota. Tässä tapauksessa osa Sonyn ekosysteemiominaisuuksista jää pois, kuten selkeä käyttöliittymä TV:n kautta. Esimerkiksi Sound Field- tai Voice-tilojen aktiivisuutta ei aina näe helposti ilman sovellusta.

DTS Neural:X on omassa käytössäni ollut tasaisin yleisasetus tavalliselle sisällölle ja peleille. 360 Spatial Mapping toimii hyvin oikealla Atmos-materiaalilla, mutta voi kuulostaa oudolta tavallisessa sisällössä.

PS5:n kanssa suosittelen AV-vahvistin-asetusta ja Dolby Atmos -tilaa. Pelien surround- ja tilavaikutelma toimii todella hyvin.

Käyttökokemus ei kuitenkaan ole täysin ongelmaton. Bravia Connect -sovellus on käytännössä pakollinen ilman Sonyn omaa televisiota, ja verkko-/mesh-ympäristössä yhteyden kanssa oli aluksi säätämistä. Premium-tuotteelta toivoisi myös selkeämpiä visuaalisia tilailmaisimia itse soundbariin.

Kokonaisuutena erittäin tehokas ja moderni soundbar erityisesti niille, jotka haluavat suuren elokuvamaisen äänen ilman perinteistä AVR + kaiutinjohtoviidakkoa.

BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 oli minulle päivitys vanhemmasta HT-ST5000 + subi -setistä. Osto oli tietoinen kompromissi, koska en käytä Sonyn BRAVIA-televisiota. Tällöin menettää joitakin ominaisuuksia kuten Acoustic Center Syncin, Voice Zoomin visuaalisen hallinnan sekä tärkeimpänä barin oman käyttöliittymän tiedot ruudulla. Ilman BRAVIA-TV:tä et esimerkiksi näe helposti:

onko Sound Field päällä

mikä äänitila on käytössä

tai mitä bari tarkalleen tekee.

Äänenlaatu riippuu todella paljon lähdemateriaalista. Suurin osa normaalista sisällöstä ei ole Dolby Atmos -miksattua, ja tämä bar reagoi siihen herkästi. Ensimmäinen suositukseni onkin:

käytä Bravia Connect -appia aktiivisesti

aseta 360 Spatial Mapping → DTS Neural:X

jätä DRC ja DSEE Ultimate pois päältä normaalikäytössä.

Näillä asetuksilla ääni pysyy luonnollisempana monella eri lähteellä Sound Fieldin kanssa.

“Edistynyt äänenvoimakkuus” toimii hyvin esimerkiksi YouTubessa tai hiljaisessa katselussa, mutta elokuvissa se voi litistää isot efektit todella rajusti. Tämä ei ole vika vaan ominaisuus, mutta sen vaikutus kannattaa tiedostaa.

PlayStation 5-käyttäjille vielä tärkeä vinkki:

aseta PS5:llä laitteeksi AV-vahvistin

vaihda ääni Linear PCM → Dolby Atmos.

DTS Neural:X:n kanssa ero kuuluu selvästi jo PS5:n aloitusruudun musiikissa.

Käytän itse baria yhdessä SA-SW5 -subwooferin kanssa ja tarkoitus on vielä lisätä rear-kaiuttimet myöhemmin. Oikein säädettynä tämä on erittäin vaikuttava soundbar, mutta vaatii enemmän ymmärrystä ja säätämistä kuin moni ehkä odottaa.

Seamless integration with Bravia 9 TV. Deep and full sound. Films in Dolby Atmos are incredible!!

I brought this to go with the bravia tv and I'm very pleased that I did. The sound is great and integrates nicely with the tv sound. An important addition to my system

Halusin pienemmän laitteen kuin aiempi vahvistin, kaiutin ja subbari yhdistelmä. Ei jytise niin paljon kuin aiempi mutta täysin riittävä itselle ja mukavan helppo käyttää.

So far so excellent. Pairs perfectly with the new Sony Bravia 8 II which itself has a good sound system. As an avid movie watcher the Theatre Bar 9 is extraordinary. Watched Dune as the first movie - lights out - OMG. In the Cinema experience.

Not as good as i thought. Not good value for money

Fantastic soundbar, the 360 spatial technology works very well, especially with Atmos. I’ve paired it with a Bravia 9, very easy config/setup, the s center is a nice feature. The TV stand in high mode and the bar are perfectly matched from an aesthetic perspective.

Excellent sound quality and the side speakers up speakers are brilliant. Brings movies to life like the complete cinema experience

Amazing soundbar, awesome quality! Best purchase ever!

I purchased this Sony Bravia Theater Bar 9 soundbar because it matches my excellent Bravia 8 TV, but so far I am somewhat underwhelmed by the soundbar's performance as I'm not hearing much sound separation / direction. The soundbar also desperately needs a digital readout advising what type of sound input it is actually receiving / processing (eg mono, stereo, Dolby Atmos, DTS etc). I assume the soundbar's performance would be enhanced by the matching Sony sub and rear speakers but their prices are extortionate.

Always bought Sony Bravias but this latest model surpasses them all.

Excellent picture quality and sound, especially linked up to a Sony Soundbar.

Built in Google TV makes using apps far easier.

A must buy for anyone wanting to upgrade.

It’s still in the box. All being well I hope to have it installed within the next couple of weeks.

The soundbar it's self is very good, but one star removed because the app is rubbish. Doesn't see my microphone on my phone. Even though the green dot says it's in use. Doesn't always connect to the soundbar. Have found out this is sometimes due to the VPN. Not always. Plus the soundbar doesn't always change to HDMI 2 automatically. Costs a lot of money would think the app would be a lot better. Don't like the fact there is no menu on the soundbar it's self. Think removing the celebration mic was a mistake.

Brought this to go with new Bravia 8 ii 65” TV

Sits perfect in the space under the TV.

Was a little bit of hassle getting the Bravia Connect App to work, had to reset the Soundbar to sort it.

But now it’s all working I’m really pleased. When Sony bring out a pair of rear speakers that aren’t battery operated I will add them to the system.

With the lights off when watching a movie it’s like being at the cinema but with the comforts of home.

The first soundbar that I have ever bought and boy is it a good one!

Having a fairly small living room, we don't have the room for a full surround sound theatre system, but this soundbar does the job without any wires or Bluetooth messing about. Normal TV sounds excellent and movies are outstanding as the bar creates phantom speakers giving the effect of a full surround system.

Complements the new Sony TV perfectly and I managed to get a great discount deal on both to put the icing on the cake 🍰

Great product as always. Will never buy another make but Sony 😀

Two weeks after purchase, my Sony UK installation service has been an unacceptable failure. We have endured four missed appointments, and our expensive item is still sitting unused in its original box. The support communication is painfully slow and fails to offer proactive updates or resolutions. For a premium brand, this level of service is profoundly disappointing and frustrating. This entire experience has turned excitement into regret.

Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 9 on erinomainen lisä Sony Bravia TV:lle. Tuottaa huomattavasti paremman äänen kuin ilman tätä. Tämä tosin vaatii BRAVIA Connect appilla tehtävän kalibroinnin, sillä ilman sitä äänen laadun parannus jää melko vaatimattomaksi. Äänen laatu paranee huomattavasti, mutta 7.0.2 tilaäänen tuottaminen ainakin omassa katselutilassani jää melko vaatimattomaksi. Jos haluat todellista tilavaikutelmaa, niin tarvitset todennäköisesti myös erilliset takakaiuttimet. Itselleni riittävä ja hyvä ostos.

It has a good sound quality and compatible with new Sony TVs, also it uses Sony TV speaker to enhance the dialogs, it has compatibility with PlayStation 5 and makes a good Dolby atmos out your PS5 that you're feeling yourself in the middle of the game.
