Very happy, great lens, very heavy, getting used to using it

Excellent with the R7 and R5

Great lens for bird photography but I do need a tripod or monopod if using it for longer than a couple of shots because it’s heavy

I’m very happy with it! Easy to use as it has image stabilisation and it’s also easy to handle, due it it’s low weight!

To be able to compose your image with the extra mm of reach is very practical and fun. The lens feels light and is good balanced. Image quality is excellent even on 800mm and f9. You can turn the zoom ring about 200mm before changing grip. The handle/fot is somewhat slippery when changing from one hand to the other.

Bought around 2 months ago has never been off the camera very happy

I have both the 100-500 and the 200-800 and to be honest the latter is the more versatile as it has the 200-800 available all the time and in addition extenders do not restrict the range with the 2x extender you have 400-1600 unlike the 100-500 where you can only attach the extender by zooming out to 300 before you can add the extender.

Had this about a month. Using mainly with a R5. Disappointing performance at the 700 to 800 images soft to unusable. If you are taking something up to 10m away you can get some good results up to 600mm after that its questionable. The juries is still out.

I bought this lens just over a month ago and I am still questioning the capability. Yes the focal length is great, but I am still questioning the picture sharpen at the 800mm end.

I also have the RF100 - 500 lens and at the moment I feel this lens provided clear sharper photos even with a 1.4 extender in use. I'm a little disappointed at the moment and question myself if I've done the right thing buying the RF 200 - 800. There are pros and cons on using this lens.

I am using this lens with the R7. It was a success story straight out of the box. AF could be quicker to lock on but that is my only bug.

Still not au fait with the buttons on the barrel.

Great lens, just wish it was Arca Swiss compatible so I don't need to bolt a foot onto it, or failing that, that the foot was removable (but the foot ring) like some other other Canon lenses.

RF 200-800mm tarjoaa etenkin arkoja kohteita kuvaavalle luontokuvauksen harrastajalle hyvän työkalun. Kuva on terävä, käytännössä hyvin samalla tasolla kuin esimerkiksi L-sarjan RF 100-500mm:n zoomissa. Jonkinasteinen sääsuojaus löytyy, ja kookas linssi on lopulta suhteellisen kevyt käsitellä. Suurin rajoite on valovoima ja aukko, mikä 800mm:n polttovälillä on f/9. Tämä kyllä riittää hyvässä valossa laadukkaisiin kuviin; hämärässä ja syvissä varjoissa pitkällä polttovälillä kuvatessa ei voi enää täysin luottaa että kameran automaattitarkennus esimerkiksi pystyisi toimimaan kunnolla.
