I’m extremely disappointed with the build quality of this thermometer. I stored the unit in a dry place for about 3 months with the batteries inside over the school holidays, assuming the "Off" button actually cut the power but apparently it doesn't.

When I went to use it again, the display was extremely faint and showing garbled, weird patterns. I figured the batteries were just low, but even after swapping in brand-new, high-quality batteries, the screen is still unreadable and glitchy.

It's ridiculous that a supposedly premium brand like Weber requires you to physically remove batteries every time you aren't grilling for a few weeks just to keep the internal electronics from frying themselves. The power button is essentially useless for long-term storage if it still allows enough parasitic drain to ruin the LCD driver.

For the price, this is poor short-sighted build quality. If you don't plan on grilling at least once a month, stay away from this garbage or be prepared to treat it like a fragile science project.

Worse than the design of their Weber Smokey Joe Charcoal Kettle BBQs where they don't bother treating any of the screws against rust at all so if you live near the ocean it's a rust bucket in no time.

I just bought but can't remove screw to insert battery. My smallest eyeglass screw is still too big. Help!

Terrible- barely worked from day one. Waste of money

We bought one several years ago and it has held up well. Fast and accurate, We use it as our benchmark when checking meat temperatures.

It worked great at first, but like many others have reported, the display eventually failed. I’m only able to see partial numbers now.

I bought this about two months ago. Worked great until the screen started to malfunction. The 10's column is no longer giving a full read out as half the number is no longer there.

I bought this product 2-3 years ago and it worked very well for that time. Recently, the display started to fade and then it eventually stopped working altogether. I replaced the battery, and now the display works fine, but the temperature is completely wrong. Room temperature is displaying as below zero. Is there something I need to do to reset it?

It worked well but after the battery died and I replaced the battery, the screen is barely visible and shows random letters/numbers.

Was given this as a gift with the spirit bbq. Worked once went to use it a second time it show -15c temp in the room was +23. Went to change the battery now the screen won’t work. Useless

Happy with the item out of the box, however as others have suggested the longevity of the product is questionable. After using once and making sure to clean it as directed, I went to use it again a couple days later and the display turns on for less than a second and goes blank. This is very disappointing for the weber name as this does not seem to work for many.

I bought one and the battery failed. I replaced the battery and it worked for a week. I was sure it was turned off each time. I then bought a second and had the same thing happen again. So I lost the cost of the thermometer and the extra batteries.

These things are garbage and don't last. First one lasted 6 months. Thought it was a lemon so I bought another one. It lasted 3 months. Have trouble powering off and on and uses batteries like grass thru a goose!

My screen is unreadable and the characters are all out of whack. I replaced the battery, same result.

Does not last long for something that is relatively simple, infrequently used and not subject to wear or tear. Expect better.

Used once. Stopped working. Disappointing. Was looking forward to it.

When this thermometer worked it was ok. Several months of not using and the display is faulty. Cant make out the temp of "F or C display. Thought weber would provide years of quality as per their BBQ's but the add ons seem to be lacking in same standard

Brought this to spot probe meats. This works great, reads temps in around 3-5sec. Very useful to check any type of meat, chicken, beef roast, lamb, pulled pork etc. Do take care with it, my first one drowned but was impressed enough to buy a second one.

About a year old, maybe used a dozen times. Hand washed and put away after each use.

Wouldn’t turn on. Replaced with a new battery.

I get this isn't an expensive item, but I thought I would get more than one use out of it. I tried to use it tonight and it will not stay on.

Screen lasted 1 year and broke. Neat unit not waterproof. Does not last.

I bought this thermometer one year ago. I used it for one roast on the bbq and then put in the drawer. I took it out for this years bbq and it was not working. I put a new battery in and it still is not working.. Garbage
