Glossy OLED upgrade was worth it
Already had the XG27AQDMG (240Hz matte OLED) in my setup, but wanted to try the glossy version, picked up this model to be my main display and I'm extremely happy with the upgrade. The glossy makes a bigger difference than I expected. Side by side with the matte OLED, colors look more saturated and "punchier," blacks appear even deeper, and highlights have more pop. The matte version is still great, but the glossy one gives that extra wow factor especially noticeable in dark scenes and HDR content. It just looks more like a high-end TV than a monitor :)). Motion clarity is excellent as expected from OLED, near-instant response time makes fast-paced games feel incredibly smooth. Would I have wanted 360Hz of this one? Sure, that would've been the perfect, but 280Hz still feels great in actual use and in fps games. Build quality is typical ROG — solid stand, good ergonomic adjustments, clean design. OSD is easy to navigate and the burn-in protection features are reassuring for daily use.
