excellent TVArvosana 5/5
Excellent picture. Lots of postprocessing options: color grading, resolution upsampling, framerate interpolation (TruMotion), denoising and other things that you disable if you want your movies not to look like telenovelas, but if you do, they're all there and look really good. 1080p @25 FPS SDR -> 4K @40+ FPS (can't tell exactly by just eyeballing) EDR without breaking a sweat. I have it hooked up to Apple TV 4K, they negotiate Dolby Vision/framerate over HDMI, I don't have to do anything.
Importantly: no LG online account required, can be set up offline. I connected it once via ethernet cable so it could update its software, then disconnected the cable, and that's it, it doesn't demand internet connection. In other words, no spying on the user / content recognition / shoving ads in your face / "phone home" / etc.
End user license agreement is split into sections, specifically advertisements, and you only have to agree to the first (main) one.
Don't like: the remote control "mouse pointer" user interface. Takes getting used too, and still moves way too fast even on the slowest setting. If I had to use it as a "smart" TV, it'd be more annoying, but then I'd probably use phone app remote control instead.
