[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall a good machine but I have had some problems with this one I never had with my prior X1 carbon that I had for several years so many not manufactured with the same durability. For example, one USB port is not working and the machine is only a few months old.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this laptop for a couple of months. It is an excellent machine. I use it for spreadsheets and web apps mostly. Performance is fast. It is light weight so don't lose track of it in a pile of papers!

Only improvement is a better way to open it. The screen is lightweight, the computer is lightweight, so it takes two hands to open. Otherwise you'll just flip it over. A pressure latch that would pop the screen up a bit when pressed down would be a good addition.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] RE: ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Intel (14ʺ) Aura Edition - Eclipse Black - I am using it for about 1 month. It is the best laptop I have been using ever! Technical parameters are one of the best, it is probably the lightest personal computer with the smallest dock station and the very ergonomic laptop keyboard and the additional external one with BT connection!! Monitor of 27" diameter with the same 4k resolution as this laptop display. I still have to learn more capabilities of this computer and peripheries! The displays with very high refresh frequency (120 Hz and 99,99 Hz, respectively) makes unusual quality of appearance!!

I wanted something nice to use at my teacher desk and I leave my district laptop plugged into my one screen. This frees me up to monitor student screens on GoGuardian. This device has excellent battery life, is very lightweight, and handles anything I throw at it with ease.

Spend a little extra to get upgraded processor, RAM and memory so we can have this for several years and have it run at a peak level. Very happy with our choice.

The new software if fairly intuitive so switching software and data only took a few hours. I’ve had it now for two months and am enjoying its speed and versatility.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second ThinkPad, and, for the most part, I love it - light-weight, speedy, perfect for my purposes. The one big improvement over my last one is that I no longer need to use a cooling pad because it doesn't overheat like the last one. Although this is great, it's outshined by the fact that the right CTRL key has been replaced with the fingerprint reader. I'm someone who uses CTRL-SHIFT-Arrow to highlight one word at a time a lot, and I can't do that with one hand anymore.

The OLED display is crisp and clear with deep blacks and no glare during long drafting sessions. The Intel Core Ultra processor and the 2TB SSD keep everything fast and responsive. The key pads are quiet and feel great to the fingertips, which makes typing smooth and effortless during long stretches of work. The build quality is light, rigid, and professional. If your work depends on writing, editing, or document production, this laptop earns its place on your desk.

Sleek design, horrible keyboard. Don’t buy. They added a key for fingerprint recognition that never works. Next to that key, they replaced the CTRL key button with an AI button that’s supposed to please Microsoft and launch Copilot. How could they do that is beyond imagination. You try and do CTRL C to copy something and you open copilot. What were they thinking?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent weight and battery life. I previously used the 9th gen which is light but has a bad battery life. I am surprised that the gen 13 has an even lighter weight but much better battery life and performance. The screen is much better as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an X1 Carbon Gen 6. For the time, it was a great device. Turns out soaking it for 3 days in a backpack with an open water bottle wasn't the best plan .... it was in COVID and I could get my hands on a X1 Nano Gen 2 easier. I really liked the device ... it worked well for my workflow. My only two irritants were battery life (like 2.5 hours with my workflow) and severe throttling when working it hard (regularly I use all of my laptops in a docking station when in the office).

Enter the X1 Carbon Gen 13. Note, the Aura Edition has the Lunar Lake chip (Intel® Core™ Ultra 7). With the 258v chip this thing is FAST for typical office "stuff" ... inclusive of light Adobe Products. The battery is perfectly adequate in that I haven't had to change my workflow when on battery and haven't needed to obsess about the closest plug. If I needed to truly optimize everything for long battery life (international flights, etc) I'm sure I could get 10+ hours out of it (maybe more).

My business requires rock solid dependable tools. I don't need the most cutting edge; I need something with longevity that I can trust. I consider ThinkPad's the Toyota of the computer world. If they wanted to get more performance they could, but they'd give up dependability. This device is in the perfect spot of the Venn Diagram.
