I appreciate the role of a MoBo in a build, but unless overclocking, there is no real need to go above the STRIX model which is significantly cheaper. I will do some BIOS and or/ tweak app adjustments in the near future, which could potentially have been done on the STRIX model, I do however prefer the look of the Hero over the STRIX model. I also like to get the best I can for my use without spending stupid money, and going above this board to the "Extreme" MoBo wasn't justifiable for my usage (at twice the price).

The VRM stays cool, probably helped with my CPU block fan on the Arctic III and large fan and air movement on my HAF 700 EVO case. I like the VRM display. Connections are vast, 2 front USB connectors are very useful, high speed rear LAN is very good, gen 5 M2 with my Samsung Pro 9100 is lightning quick as is the PCIe 5 running the Astral 5080.

Overall it's great, have given it 4 stars; Even with the latest BIOS update (2302) I can't get the system to start-up with anything over 6000MT/s on my 64GB of G.Skill Z5 6400 CL32-39-39, I just get a black screen and a restart which is disappointing. I will continue to try ways around this - I have seen people get 7200 working!

This is a superb motherboard with more features & sockets than you can use. It’s a very heavy board and well made.

Loads of usb ports on rear panel . Fairly easy to install ( weight makes it a little tricky in a small case. Got it to replace my z790 hero and when coupled with the new Ultra processors it’s lightning fast. Not cheap, but well worth it. Love all the ssd onboard sockets . Well worth getting
