Good Solid Printer
Arvosana 5/5[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a great fan of Brother products, Unfortunately my current printer from Brother stopped working so i was very happy when i got this Newer model, This is a great product and am impressed with the high quality of printing. It is much heavier and robust compared to my old one, but I was still surprised by how big and solidly built it is. It's over 20kg, WiFi connected very easily. This printer is perfect for my small business as i use my printer on daily bases.. it arrived well packed, However i needed a bit of help setting it up due to the heavy weight, It comes installed with 4 large ink cartridges so hopefully it should last a long time. After moving the unexpectedly heavy box to the study, I unpacked it to show a classy looking brother printer. Initial thought is it looked sturdy and easy and easy on the eye. The set up was easy to follow including the downloading of the app on my phone and putting the toners in the printer. The only tricky was the connection to the Wi-Fi. It took a few attempts to get connected . I have completed a test print with my daughter present and her reaction was ‘I’m using that for my art project’. It’s really easy to set up and the app is so easy to navigate through and use. I’m no tech wizard but this literally only took me 2/3 minutes to set up. The app is so easy to use and also gives full set up instructions. The ink on this printer makes everything you print very crisp, sharp and professional looking. It prints so fast and so there’s no messing around waiting. I really found the ease of this printer was perfect for me. It’s not the bulkiest printer I’ve had but not the smallest either. It’s definitely suitable for either home or office use. But it’s simple to use and really does everything you need a printer to do. I had hoped it would include a small amount of paper to get started but it didn’t. It works well with the app which has lots of options, printing from your phone, via Wi-Fi, even when you’re not in the same building! It is a great printer. For the size it would be great to have a scanner included, perhaps one day! Had a small mark on one side - but I haven’t reached out to the company regarding this. My old printer is getting on a bit now and I wanted to veer away from the brand I was using. I was a little worried about trying something else in case I didn’t like it as much. Upon opening the printer I knew right away it was a great piece of kit! Sometimes you can tell by looking at something that it’s going to be brilliant and this was. I unpacked it all. Took the security paper and clips off of every part. There were loads but that’s a positive because it arrived absolutely intact. Not even a tiny mark. It took me absolutely no time at all to set up the wife on its lovely touch screen display and print my first sheet. I like the option to print front and back to save on paper. I did struggle to get it connected to my iMac initially. I have no idea why but it kept failing to connect. It took me around an hour to do. I tried black and white printing and colour both were lovely. That new ink certainly makes a difference. The cartridges it takes are huge so they would last a long time. I even tried printing a photo and the finish was amazing. The only downside I could find was the size/bulkiness and the weight of it. I have had to have it upstairs in the bedroom because it doesn’t fit my office. It’s not such a big deal though as the wifi means I can print from the office. I would recommend this printer to friends and family. If you print a lot like we do you won’t have to change the ink constantly because of those big cartridges. The instructions are simple and clear. Very easy to follow. You don’t have to be tech savvy to be able to install this. The printing speed is very fast too i was surprised at how fast it is. Overall a handsome printer.
