I got this in December on sale from Sony .

It's fast and And has a nice weight.

Not the easiest Camara to set up for fancy photography.

But everything else is bang on.

Battery life is great, camera super and software especially if you owned sony cameras. Screen quality is one of the best, overall love design and quality of phone

Suuri miinus, auton laitteiden kanssa isot ongelmat. Saa yhteyden Fordin järjestelmään, mutta sen jälkeen ongelmat alkaa. Ei voida kommunikoida, koska pelkkää särinää !

Great audio. Camera is really good. Easy to use. Feels great in the hand and a compact size. 3.5mm jack and Bluetooth are excellent. Highly recommendfed.

Seriously under rated phone that ticks all the boxes, one of the few phones I have ever owned that does and has the best audio of any phone out there.

Pro's - Big battery, great camera, powerful / fast, compact, good build quality, Micro SD card, 3.5mm headphone jack, great audio, no AI gimicks, almost stock Android, great screen up to 120Hz*, reliable fingerprint scanner..... Etc Etc

Neg* - Screen refresh rate minimum 60Hz, so no always on display... but that's it.

This is my first Xperia phone that I've used for 4-6 weeks,I have bought Xperia phone's before but never kept them longer then a few days due to camera not being good enough or other issues with software or hardware,this Xperia 5 v is the first Xperia that I find almost perfect and decided to keep for a long term,the camera has seriously been improved whether I'm using basic or manual mode and the portraits this phone can take in the right conditions are unbelievable,the blur ,bokeh balls the best I've ever seen, battery is superb can last all day with heavy use and after 15-16 hours still has 35-45 battery percentage remaining after 6+ hours of screen on time truly impressive,phone barely heats up,just wish Sony would increase the update policy because this phone has the capability to last 5-6 years if it had the right software support,hope this review helps anyone on the fence.the size is perfect and s reen has no blue tint as reported by some and is actually nice and vibrant and a pleasure to watch things on as well as the great sounding front facing stereo speaker's,not to forget the headphone jack and the SD card reader,all in all a fully fledged mobile phone experience with lots of pluses.

Had this phone for a couple of weeks now, the only problem I have is that Bluetooth keeps turning off for no reason. Listening on Bluetooth earbuds and all of a sudden you get "Bluetooth turned off, pairing.

Not amused with it.

SD card reader, headphone jack, large battery, front-facing speakers, no notch, enthusiast cameras, tall aspect ratio, square design. Perfect.

Only gripe is that they removed the notification LED. Still, the rest is great.

For the future, I hope they consider a removable battery. Metal build held together with standard screws maybe? I can dream.

I'll keep buying Sony phones; they seem to be the only manufacturer who "gets it". Thank you Sony for considering functionality instead of blindly following trends. You have a dedicated userbase who loves you for it.

I needed a new phone and am biased toward Sony. Headphone jack and sd card are always a win win. The phone feels great in the hand and expensive as it should for the price. The xperia ui is slick and lightweight although the launcher is lacklustre: this is easily solved with a third party option. The Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is ridiculously powerful and responsive. The phone is great to use and always feels fast and snappy. On the downside, first the storage. Yes I know that there is an sd card slot which is great but the internal memory, at least here in the UK is only available at 128 which is pitiful. Why are the 256 & 512 variants not available here? Although the camera app is wonderful when in manual mode the basic mode needs to be better. One in three shots with it are out of focus and or over exposed. The exposure thing is sort of true in all modes as the camera has a tendency to over brighten shots. Lastly the promise of only two years of OS upgrades is downright outrageous considering how much these phones cost.

The phone is exactly what I expected. Easy to use, perfect camera, good battery life ( 4 days on a single charge ), a rich selection of programs for both photography and editing.

So many phones are too big for my wife's hands. Or they are small but, well, rubbish. The Xperia 5 series has been hitting the small size and top end features slot for years. She couldn't be happier. See you in a couple of years for the Xperia 5 VI or VII ;)

This Sony Xperia 5.V is the best compact phone so far ..I previous had the Sony Xperia 5 and I was so happy about. Easy to use great quality of photos I can play my games easily with one hand only and more ....

This is one of the best compact phones that I have used. It has amazing battery life that easily could last 2/3 days of average use. Has a good screen but it doesn't feel very high resolution. The camera is good but not the best. I think overall I rate this phone highly and would recommend.

Love this phone for not over processed photos. Very good results even in Basis mode and super simple to use. Plenty of advance settings for photo and video. Great slow motion. Great sound recording and sound. Also great battery life but I would improve charging speed. Love Jack and SD card. Minor thing is limited android settings ( can't remove apps names) from the main screen. I also do not understand why almost 70 GB consumed from the main memory while I keep all media on the SD card.

I got three useful years out of my last Xperia 5, so I thought I would upgrade to the latest handset as a treat. Superior over my older model. Longer battery life and the camera is easy to use and takes great pictures. Something I would expect from Sony. Couldn't recommend enough.

Great battery life, stunning images and video quality

I've only had this phone a few weeks. I had an Xperia 5i a few years back which I loved. Then moved to an Xperia 10iv which was slow. The Xperia 5v looks pretty identical to the 10, which was disappointing as I loved the bigger 5i screen and thin design. Also, the beautiful glass backing. However, the camera has been sooooo much better, the sound is undoubtedly better/louder. The speed/connectivity compared to the 10iv is vastly improved. I can pick up WiFi in my garden which my 10iv had no chance of doing. Downloading web pages etc when out and about is rapid. Works well, just need to improve the look!

I thought I'd try a different phone and bought a Google Pixel 6 a few years ago. I decided to go back to Sony and have no regrets. Pixel 6 is a decent phone, but has so many frustrating bugs, even with updates. The Xperia 5 V is a different level. Easy to use and works like a dream. Has cracking hardware to back up the smooth operation.

Had this phone for a couple of weeks now and am very pleased with it but why was it necessary to make screenshots and turning it off more difficult ? Would have been a 5 star otherwise.

Ostin viikko sitten puhelimen aiemmin kadonneen Sony Xperia 5 iii tilalle. Päädyin edelleen Sonyyn hyvien kokemusten perusteella. Uusi Sony on ensikokemusten perusteella valtaosaltaan vielä parempi kuin edellinen puhelimeni. Sormenjälkitunnistin toimii erinomaisen hyvin, kosketusnäyttö on entistä luotettavampi ja virtakin tuntuu riittävän aiempaa paremmin. Ainoa asia joka vielä mietityttää on kameravarustus, uudessa laitteessa ei näet ole erillistä teleobjektiivia. Sille on ollut aika usein tarvetta. Koska puhelin on ollut vasta vähän aikaa minulla, en vielä osaa arvioida telen puuttumisen vaikutusta kuvaamiseen, mutta tuskinpa sillä ainakaan positiivista vaikutusta on.

Laitteessa hyvä rauta. Kosketusnäytön tarkkuus ja kaiuttimet saa kiitosta. Kohtuullisella käytöllä akku kestää kaksi päivää kun vanhan puhelimen sai ladata päivittäin. Toki iso akku tuntuu painossa. Hyvin käteen sopiva kun puhelin ei ole kovin leveä ja 21:9 kuvasuhteella. Androidissa tykkään kun ei ole ladattu täyteen valmistajan omia sovelluksia vaan pidetty pitkälti puhtaana Androidina. Mutta todella monipuoliset Sonyn kamera sovellukset. Suosittelen!
