Very happy with this unit, our second Sony OLED in our household. Sony holds its commitment to bringing cinema home, maintaining picture quality and integrity. Setup was a breeze and the little touches are appreciated across the unboxing journey. This is Sony’s signature and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a pleasure to watch.

Iam genuinely so pleased with this. Think I got a bargain. Turns old TV series and movies into exceptional viewings quality. Don't think an s sound center soundbar is required as I think the speakers are that good all though I might in future but be surprised in what a soundbar could do to this . It's fast and snappy for smart features as well. Haven't encountered any faults . Go grab a bargain like I did . O

The Sony Bravia XR‑55A80L has very good picture quality and sound. YouTube runs smoothly and shows the hardware can deliver when the app is solid.

Unfortunately, the BBC apps (News and iPlayer) are very unstable. I’ve had repeated crashes, spinning circles, pixel storms, and even shutdowns when using them. The Live TV & Catch‑up service is also slow to respond, and the TV takes too long to start up in the morning.

Since I mainly rely on BBC services, these issues make everyday use frustrating. To confirm the problem, I’ve ordered a Chromecast with Google TV (4K) to test BBC streaming externally. If that works, it will show the fault lies with the Bravia’s app handling, not my broadband.

For a UK customer, reliable BBC access is essential. Until this is fixed, the TV feels incomplete despite its good picture and sound.

I bought this 3 weeks ago as a replacement for my 2014 bravia. I already have the 65" version which I bought in 2023 so expected the same with a smaller screen. A couple of things which disappointed were the feet position which are towards the edges with no option for a more central position for smaller TV units and also the length of the feet which stick out of the front a lot further and means the TV has to sit back further on the stand and obscures part of the screen unless you're sat opposite. The other bug bear was the remote feels cheap and doesn't illuminate like my 65" does. Apart from that, it's as every bit as good as expected, picture quality is amazing and Dolby Atmos content really has you looking around for where the sounds coming from.

I was going to try a highly rated LG oled but am happy enough with my choice this time.

After originally posting a one star review because of warranty issues, but after contacting Sony they resolved the issue quickly and I now have a extended warranty in place. The TV is excellent as always with a Sony Bravia.

Fantastic picture, can't be faulted. However the inputs via my Sony AV unit are problematic, sometimes disconnect and are rather slow. My previous TV did not have this issue.

I’ve had this for 3 weeks and what amazing Tv this is. I have it linked up with the Sony BRAVIA Theatre System 6 and the Sony UBP-X800M2 and works together like a dream

Bought this in August 2025, and it's the biggest disappointment ever. Whilst the picture quality is superb, the operating system (Google TV) is dire - plagued with crashes. Tried plugging a Roku stick in to bypass the appalling software, but the TV still randomly crashes at least once every viewing session, sometimes multiple times. Tried factory resets etc. but nothing helps. Compared to the cheap Roku TV I have in another room, this is just dire - doesn't matter how good the picture is if you can't watch anything without it crashing and re-starting at some point.

Bought on 2 Oct 25 and has gone in for repair on 12 Oct 25. This was a new replacement for the same model that stopped working after 22 months. Seems like software updates fry the main board.

For the price I managed to get this TV for (new in a sale), it is very good value for money.

Hyvä ja helppo käyttöinen taattua sony laatua.Hyvä kun on kahdella virittimellä laitoin Usb rec porttiin ulkoisen kovalevyn voi tallentaa yhtä kanavaa kerralla ja voi katsoa tallenteen myöhemmin.Edellinen tv oli sony bravia 65 tuuman ja se kesti 14 vuotta.Tämä malli näyttää lupaavalta suosittelen.

It's really the best TV! Unparalleled picture quality, colours, brightness and smoothness. The sound quality is top notch, it's really a cinematic experience with true surround sound! The UI and the software are truly advanced and helped a lot in easing how to deal with the TV in every occasion. The PlayStation 5 experience is unbelievable! Picture quality, frames, responsive actions and sound quality are non comparable! The build quality is from another world, the class looks and the trustworthy materials are a real comfort.

I really can't recommend it enough!

This was a replacement for XR55A80J which developed a fault after two and a half years.

I am delighted with this sony bravia as I was with the previous one.

Bought this set due to the reviews. It lives up to the hype....

Only down side for me, is the bezel, or edge of the screen is NOT the edge. The screen when off looks like it goes from edge to edge..... but no. And I have checked. It's maxed screen size leaves about 7mm around the top and sides. 12mm at the base....

Excellent clarity of picture and of sound. Slim profile.

So happy with the picture and sound don’t need a sound bar easy to use although I still haven’t played with all the features, this is my second Sony tv and I moved from another brand my old Sony still works fine after 10 years but does not have all the features of the new one , that why I went back to Sony
