I’ve been very happy with this camera. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and the image quality is excellent. The autofocus is quick and reliable, and the 24-50mm lens is a good all-around option. It also records great-looking videos, so it’s a great choice for both photography and video. Overall, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased this 2 months ago but have still not used it in anger. I need to learn more and I’m also a bit of a fair weather user so the timing did not help me getting out and about with it yet. I semi retire in April so will get to try and used it fully then.

I have had a second hand canon eos 80D for several years and got on really well with it.

The EOS R8 is a class apart. I find it easier to use and the options displayed in the view finder when the settings wheel is changed are extremely useful.

The camera is light and with the adaptor I can continue to use my old lenses.

I bought this as a back-up camera to my R6 Mark II and I'm very happy with it. While it lacks a few of the features of the more expensive camera, it offers incredible value for the price. The images come out almost exactly the same as the R6 II thanks to having the same sensor. It's also very small and lightweight – easy to handle in situations where you have to carry your kit long distances.

Very pleased with the R8 coming from the Canon 5D Markll which took outstanding pictures but was showing its age and I was on the lookout for something which had all the latest technology and Canon does not disappoint in this department like subject tracking,40 fps , full size sensor which is perfect for my wildlife photos and I purchased a RF to EF adapter so I can still use all of my original lenses from my 5D for now

as a disabled photographer. i had to px my eos r5 for the r8 due to weight. i am amazed at the difference, so much lighter, almost half as lite. auto focus better overall than the r5. i found shooting in raw, there is very little need for excessive post processing due to the accuracy of data recorded by the sensor. sadly ,the battery life is short, and i feel it would benefit from ibis. overall a great light camera, not over complicated. as good as many full frame cameras, and better than some.

Had it a year and it’s a fabulous camera. I use it for wedding photography and events. The lightweight body enables me to carry it for long hours without any issues

Really happy with the camera but the standard kit lens, although sharp, suffers terribly with vignetting and distortion to the point that I can’t believe it carries the Canon name.

I am an amateur photographer and bought the R8 as a step up from my old 4000D as I have want to develop my sport and wildlife photography so the shutter speed and autofocus were the main selling points to me and they did not disappoint! The autofocus tracking is amazing- I was worried that as I’m still using EF lenses with the adapter there might be a bit of a lag or inaccuracy but that is not the case and I would highly recommend this system to anyone wanting to step up into the R range

I have no regrets. The R8 works well with my 77D, yet there’s a felt difference. I love the features and picture quality. What I love most, is the fact I don’t have to buy a new set of lens.

I bought this camera a few weeks ago and very pleased with the results when used with the RF85mm F2 lens but the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 kit lens is just bog standard which i will be upgrading very soon! Overall an amazing deal when purchased with these two lenses!

I bought the R8 as a travel camera because of its size ond weight my other camera being a 5 mk 3

I must say I am beginning to love the R8 more because of all the features in the software

I also bought the adapter so I could use my L series lenses on it

Overall a great little camera with big features

Moved to the R8 from a Canon EOS 200D, loved the low size and weight of that for travelling and walking, the quality was good but not quite excellent compared to a full frame DSLR. The R8 increases the weight by a few grammes over the 200D, the body is about 10mm wider. The upside is the R8 is it's full frame and has a much more advanced sensor - expose for the highlights then the shadow detail that can be retrieved later is unreal. Image quality sparkles through on every photo.

Hardest thing to get the grey matter around is the focusing system, but having heard the Technical Editor of EOS magazine (highly recommended by the way) talk about it, loved at a few YouTube videos and done some reading around it, that's coming together.

Invested in a few RF lenses to make the transition and they are excellent, plus an adaptor to use all my older full frame EF lenses which work seamlessly on the R8.

Hint - take some time to look at customising the R8's buttons to your way of working. For example there is a video record button which falls naturally under the right hand index finger; when trialling the R8 before purchase using the "try the kit" scheme from Canon setting this button to directly access ISO settings worked really well. So that's already done and a custom menu page set up.

Summary - very happy with the R8, just slightly sad that my beloved full frame Canon DSLR previously used for landscapes is probably going to gather some dust now.

Until I retired at age 69 I had very little time to do the things I liked, including photography! Over the years I'd accumulated some nice photo product many have never been used. Since receiving my R8 I've enjoyed getting everything together :) I've spent and enormous amount of time learning from Youtube videos.

Pakettiin kuului RF 24-50mm objektiivi f/4.5-6.3, jolta en odottanut paljonkaan heikohkon valovoimaisuuden vuoksi, mutta kameran täyskenno ja ominaisuudet ovat niin hyvät, että perusobjektiivillakin saa laadukkaita kuvia, jopa hämärässä. Kameran keveys on myös ehdoton plussa, linssikameroihin verrattuna. Suosittelen.

Bought to upgrade from the RP. It is so much better in just about every respect

I have used this camera in a few different scenarious such as landscape, woodland, mountain and astrophotography and although i am a beginner i am very pleased with the results especially with the colour range and sharpness even from the kit lens, just acquired the 100-400mm rf so we will see how this fairs.

Bought this about a month ago took it on holiday, and although I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the buttons and settings I'm slowly getting the hang of it and I'm very impressed with its capabilities and versatility not tried video yet as I'm more of a still photographer than video but I'm sure it will be equally as impressive

Olen käyttänyt R8:aa nyt noin kuukauden verran. Olen tyytyväinen. Hankin myös akkukahvan viikko sitten ja se parantaa otetta kamerasta, kun on isot kourat. Ja kun on 2 akkua, niin virtaa riittää paremmin. IS:n puuttuminen kamerasta ei ole haitannut, kun objektiiveissä on. Kun tietäisi miten saa tarkennuksen olemaan aloittaessa keskellä ruutua, niin auttaisi. Ei tarvis aina siirtää sitä alareunasta keskelle. Sama oli kyllä R7:ssakin. Tarkennuksen saa kyllä siirrettyä haluttuun kohtaan aika helposti joskin eri lailla kuin joistikin kanssa.

I purchased this camera for a trip to Florida to go along with my 5D MK II which I have had for some years now. The compact size was ideal for travelling around the Disney parks and the results were very impressive. The fully featured camera has everything I need for travel and studio work.

Not had it long but it's going to be with me for a while. Excellent

A true full frame mirrorless camera at a great price. Has most of the functions on other cameras costing much more. AF etc really fast and pin sharp as you'd expect.

Very good features which are not too difficult to grasp producing v.v. good image quality.

Love this camera. Easy to handle and navigate the stuff you need. Intuitive enough for the beginner with enough bells and whistle for the professional. Great bit of kit.
