Got this lens that came with the R100 I guess a ‘kit lens’ you could call it. So far it seems a decent lens, maybe more suited to small group shots and a general lens I’d used while on holiday recently in conjunction with a 10-18 WA and 55-210mm additional kit lens…and some lovely shots…

Nice lens for my R10 and I find the picture quailty good. It's very light so good for walking around with.

I bought this just after I got the R7 - I'd planned on using EF glass with a converter which works well, but got this lens locally for a very good deal. Compared with the Canon EF 18-55 III, the build quality seems more solid; when using it, the autofocus is much faster and quieter than the EF, the images seem to my eye to be better in colour and sharpness. It's also at least 12mm shorter when the lens is locked shut: the EF doesn't lock the lens at all. Just about the only thing the EF has by way of advantage is a 55mm throw rather than the 45mm of the RF. The acid test is that the RF stays on the camera by default and the EF one comes out of the bag only when I'm doing a mix of film and stills. I'd not expected to buy (or even like) the RF lenses, having spent so long using the EF range, but this one has persuaded me to take a good look. Definitely worth it.

I needed a very light weight wide angle lens to chuck in my camera bag to use with a full frame R5.

Light weight ws needed as total weight permitted ( Inc clothes) whilst flying on lightnaircraft in Africa is 15Kg and my r5, batteries, battery grip, 100/400 & converter in my bag weight almost 8kg, so couldn't go for an L series lens at 1.3kg. All a real value for money "chuck in the bag" lens that will do the job well but in bright conditions preferably. Would be greatly improved with metal mounting thread.
