Having purchased just under 3 weeks ago We have found the fruit stays fresher for longer. We have had many instances of strawberries and raspberries spoiling after several days (well within the best before date) in the fridge not with this little beauty seems more like Benjamin button the longer we leave the better the taste or is that just my imagination.

When we were shortlisting the array of new fridge freezers initially I had discounted the purchase we made as I thought the knock knock feature was just a gimmick along with the door in door feature. My 14 year loves these features along with the filtered water and the UVnano light gets rid of 99.9% of bacteria along with ice dispenser he has started to drink more water as it is on tap now.

Also an added bonus is it uses just less than half of the electricity our 15 year old fridge did 700Kwh vs 348Kwh in 10 years will have paid for itself in savings on electricity costs alone at todays prices.

This is definitely the best fridge freezer I have ever owned. So many useful features with no downsides.

Design

This fridge freezer looks very impressive. The black finish is sleek and modern and the textured black sides are very nice. Build quality seems good. The glass shelves are thick and heavy. The door drawers are thick plastic and feel heavy duty. Nothing seems cheap and brittle.

User Friendliness

The control panel is very straight forward. A quick tap to change temperature settings and a hold down press on some buttons for other, less frequently used functions, such as express cool and freeze. The ThinQ App is also very easy to set up and use and it contains some more advanced settings that cannot (as far as I can tell) be set with the fridges control panel.

Features

The door-in-door feature is far less gimmicky than it sounds. Once you start using it you realise how many times you go into the fridge for the same things. Opening just the hatch door means that the fridge retains much more of its cold air so it should be much more energy efficient. The knock knock feature is also very useful. As long as the door compartments aren't completely full, you can see right into the top half of the fridge without having to open the door. Wi-Fi connectivity for use with the ThinQ App is a nice added bonus. The interior light can be set to be less bright at night time and there are also power saving and fresh air functions that adjust as you use the fridge.

Cons

So far I can't think of any cons. There hasn't been anything that I have found irritating or not well thought out. I would gladly recommend this fridge to anyone looking to keep their food cold.

I can save so much space with this fridge. My good stays for longer. Water is nicely cool from the dispenser and tastes very good. I love the pre-view option.

The LG instaview fridge freezer is great looking and very practical. The knock function is not just a fad and is actually quite handy. The door panel actually opens separately in the top half of the fridge too meaning you don’t have to open the whole fridge to get something and making it easy to clean. The fridge and freezer are very spacious. I have a family of 5 and we can fit our weekly shop into the fridge freezer comfortably. It comes with everything you need to set it up including a filter which you change every 6months. These do not appear to be expensive having quickly searched online for replacements. The water tastes cleaner, the wifi function is great as it can self diagnose should you have any problems and all in all, it looks incredibly stylish. Just a few tips for when you get this delivered: we had quite a few issues getting the water to come through the dispenser. My husband is a plumber so everything was connected correctly but, it still wouldn’t come through. This could be due to air lock so, hold down the dispenser to get water out for 30seconds and then off for 60 seconds. Repeat this a couple of times (as per LGs online guidance). This did not work for us but, when I turned the appliance off at the switch, and then back on again it worked perfectly and has done since. Also, try selecting a different setting (ice), then back to water and it should work as ours did. Also make sure the lock isn’t on, inside the fridge door. I also had quite a faff setting up the wifi as it would not find our home wifi. I eventually managed to do this by setting it up manually. I typed in my BT username (BT-QC….), selected security WPA, put in my wifi password and it found it. This would be a huge faff for someone who didn’t know what they were doing and I stumbled on it through trial and error. Other than those very minor teething troubles which is probably user error as we haven’t owned a fridge freezer with such capabilities before, it has been a perfect addition to our kitchen for our family and I am really happy with it. Our friends comment on how great it looks and how good the functions are so, all in all, I would highly recommend owning the LG instaview fridge freezer. You won’t be disappointed.

We have been really impressed with our new LG fridge freezer. It is a lovely, sleek design and the brushed finish on the outside is very smart. This should hopefully prevent visible scratch marks from people walking past it. Before it arrived, I wasn't a particular fan of the light up window feature or the inner/outer door opening however I was quickly corrected. I've never realised how many times I open my fridge simply for something stored in the door (potentially between 50%-75%) but I have used this feature many times; I have even changed what I store in the door to make sure it is the items that I quickly grab. Because of this, the rest of my items will stay fresher for longer. The light up window is also really handy when checking what you need for shopping or to see how much of something is left. Despite having the water dispenser in the freezer door, we haven't really had to compromise on that much space lost which is a pleasant surprise too. The ice dispenser has come in handy already to compliment our bar too; we have been able to provide ice in an instant to our guests we had over for my birthday this week. We did have to use the app to adjust the temperature but that then meant that we were set up and ready to go. I even got a notification on my phone when one of the children left the fridge door open! This gives a bit of peace of mind if something were to go wrong whilst you were away. Overall, we are incredibly impressed with it and we would 100% recommend it. All of our visitors have been impressed with it too!

My old fridge freezer had bitten the dust, so new one required. This fitted the bill perfectly along with some extra bits that sounded good. Large volume. Looked good ice water system. So purchased and its so much more. The lighting is actually great I can see even at the back and the bottom. No dark corners. The freezer has a clever space saver for the ice cubes so I don't lose a whole load of space. The light up door although it looks cool it also saves a bit of money as I only need to pop that bit open to grab the milk, rather than open the whole lot up. Thinq is handy as the fridge can let you know through the app if a door has been left open. And it handily tells you the temperatures in the door frame. The metal inside is there to service a purpose but honestly it looks great to. Really pleased with it and so will happily recommend

We’ve just had our new fridge freezer a few days, replacing an older American style fridge freezer we had for twenty years. The dimensions of this model are slightly bigger on the outside, but inside there’s much more space than our old model. The clever integration of the freezer and water facility into the door frees up space.

LG delivered and connected up the water pipe for us as part of their delivery.

The knocking on the glass to light up felt like a gimmick to begin with, but it actually has a very useful purpose. We compared the fridge to like a Tardis for the amount of space inside.

A mild annoyance though is the lack of a drip tray for the water/ice, which means it needs wiped most times after use

This fridge is excellent. The door-in-door function is impressive, and the WiFi diagnostics make it very user friendly. It's also more energy-efficient than my last fridge. The design is modern and visually appealing. I especially appreciate the small item drawer, which is perfect for storing cheese and other little items. I’ve noticed that soft cheeses stay fresh for much longer. My fruits and vegetables also maintain their freshness for extended periods when placed in their specific compartments—some stayed fresh for up to two weeks! There's ample space in the fridge compartment, though the freezer could benefit from a bit more capacity. The glass door-in-door feature provides quick access to frequently used items like butter, yogurt or milk, which is ideal for families. The sleek design fits perfectly with new kitchen furniture. The child lock is a great addition, especially if you have small children who forget to lock the doors. All in all, the fridge performs exactly as expected.

Very quiet in operation vs the Samsung unut it replaced. Very practical with plumbed water and ice dispenser.

Delivery experience was as good as it could've been.

The appliance is quite innovative in design and functions. There is plenty of space in the fridge section and could have done a bit more in the freezer section though. So far , it is working as claimed and expected.

Good looking and practical freezer however,

Some bad points.

1. Placing the hinges on the the doors to pivot nearer the front of the door would reduce the amount of outward sideways swing of the door thus preventing the doors from obstructing adjacent units, door frames etc.
2. A serious misengineering of the unit.

No mention of a central roller under the front of the unit in the written instructions..

I wound the 2 front legs up to the the limit to help level the unit and then found the roller was on the floor makeing the unit lean back by about 50mm at the top.

I then removed the roller, which wasnt easy, to try to level up the unit but with the legs at the front still wound up fully the unit still leans back by about 25mm at the top.

Is this a design requirement or a fault in your manufacturing.

A visible lean back of the unit does not look good in the overall impression that is achieved in the layout of a kitchen.

This to me constitutes a seriously poor engineering choice.

I bought this fridge freezer about a year ago. Within a few weeks I noticed that the taste of the water from the dispenser is foul if unused for a few hours (for example overnight). The ice picks up the taste and makes drinks taste horrible too. I reported this to LG who sent out a person to look at it, who said that there's nothing he can do to fix it. None of the other suggestions of the customer service worked either. I'm now left with a fridge with an unusable water dispenser and ice maker. I'm really disappointed and wish I never bought it, which is a shame because otherwise the unit works well.

Love this American Fridge Freezer so happy and looks amazing. Great color with knock on feature is superb. I can only recommend this highly.

I really love this fridge freezer. On tap cold water, ice and crushed ice. Lots of storage. Only trouble was its size. Had to remove the garden gate and front door to get it in. I hope I never have to deal with getting it out.

Positives:- A truly great appliance. Because the ice maker is in the door, there is much more space in the freezer section. The split fridge door with the two knock light system, at first seemed that maybe it might be a bit of a gimmick. Not at all. How many times have you seen someone pondering in front of a large open fridge door. Too many time in our house! That's pretty much stopped now. When you spot what you need, open the split door and get it. ( Word to the wise. When you load your fridge, put your most frequently used items in the upper door section.

Negative:- One very small negative. The water dispenser nozzle could do with being a centimetre further back. If you place a smallish diameter glass under it, there is a chance of getting your hand wet. I always put my fingers between the receptacle and the dispenser button to give me that extra centimetre.

Summary:- Great piece of kit.

This is an excellent firde freezer and very quite, the door in door design is great

Wow what a fantastic fridge freezer , lives up to expectations ,love the tap to view in the fridge compartment, and the fact that I get a message when the doors have been left open for a few minutes plus it's a cool feature in the kitchen
