Better Internet for Gaming takes the weight off standard routers

Bought to replace and update AC86U/AC68U mesh pair, and installed with similar settings the XT12 pair picked up the network immediately and linked onto the whole thing effectively, including laptop, TV and a NAS. Various android and iOS phones picked up too. The most surprising thing was that they used 192.168.50.xxx not .1.xxx, but well managed. Mrs Sonos system took 12 h to sort itself out, but did in the end. Routers seem rock solid, as is the way with Asus, why else would I be on the 3rd version of Asus infrastructure? The top LED does convey information, but one of the pair is in a bedroom. Thankfully the control to turn it off is there, but in the control OS, so only accessible via the webpage or app, but easy to do. From my POV another really good bit of WiFi infrastructure from ASUS which runs pretty seamlessly! The "issue" of range to garage and (large) garden is resolved!

This is an excellent Router and Access Point mode for my home network distributing wired and wireless Broadband from a modem and router through a network switch into eight different rooms. It hasn’t missed a beat since purchased in May 2020.

bought the XT12 as 2 units to replace my current mesh system, which was playing up the set up process was quick and easy, This system has been running since September, the coverage and stability is better that the system it replaced (which was a more expensive system), the connection between the Units is great one in the house and one in the office (outside) I had a need to contact support just to check how to set up some of 2.4 only devices but that was also quick and easy it turns out I hadn't change one of the settings. all in all a great system.

Excellent Mesh WiFi System, has banished the dead spots which we struggled with previously.

It just works as advertised, which is want you want for a wifi system. Replaced an old Orbi system and 2 XT12s cover what took 3 Orbis. Setup using iPhone was easy and worked (unlike my previous experience with Orbi)

I am very impressed. Speeds are great and most impressively the coverage in this large old house (with thick walls) is excellent.

I’m completely blown away by how brilliant this mesh system is. I used to use one router and six other nodes on my mesh system and now there’s just this - not that I was going for the overkill but it’s just that I live in a seven bedroom three storey house. There’s definitely more room and speed to be shared by more devices now. It’s not just the device, but the customisation that comes with the app makes it worth every ££.

Easy to set up, which i think is a big plus. Lots of features, to help with security and usage. A must is to connect to the app for remote control.

The best router and easy to use, good value to your money

Ive had this router now for about 2 years and I researched the market extensively before buying because i needed a unit that could host multiple SSIDs to control WiFi to the children's devices and set schedules for useage time as well as offering furure scope for expansion whilst delivering blistering performance using the latest WiFi6AC variant. Anyway, ive now added a second repeater unit and runing on one SSID for the whole house after discovering the family controls, the app and have completely faultless wifi throughout. Im really pleased that still, after 2 years, there isnt such a feature-rich high quality router that beats this one for performance. Keep it up Asus, i love your daring do and willingness to push boundaries to keep the regular consumers right up there with the latest innovations. The only neagtives with this router, id say, are the flimseyness of the antennae fixings, allowing them to drop down, the questionable 'marmite' look (love it or hate it) and the intrigue one needs in order to go through and try each of the zillions of possible settings in order to get the setup as right as you can for your site. One the positives, its an excellent solid bit of tech, not from China, that gives you the very best coverage from the off by defauslt without having to pay for a tech guy to install it, oh, and the android App is just divine, you can shut your family wifi off from anywhere in the world so long as you have the connectivity and willing to wait for it to handshake propey. I love it.

Totally transformed WiFi in our Victorian house. Virgin Media fibre connection and now get over 350mbps even on WiFi!! The router is expensive but well worth it if you want rock solid performance on all your devices at once thank you ROG

Awesome.Sorted my coverage problems out and given me higher speeds all around the house.

I'm not actually much of a gamer but this is a great all round router and easily outperforms my old archer and i now get my full speed without having to constantly reboot..

Its easy to set up the basics and for more advanced users there are many more settings for a high level of control

So i have a lot to learn but for now i leave it alone to do what its good at, a fast and reliable connection.
