This is an update to my review "Does the basic job", which Verkkokauppa won't let me edit :-(

Although the adapter worked pretty consistently for a couple of months with my Intel Macbook and a Samsung monitor, it progressively became less and less reliable, spontaneously disconnecting and needing to be reconnected to resume working. I eventually gave up and purchased another hub using DisplayPort instead. This adapter will be relegated to traveling presentation duties. Overly expensive for this result, not recommended.

It gives consistent signal from a Macbook Pro to a 4K@60Hz display so I can't complain. On the plus side it also has a power input port, so you can plug your power adapter into that and then just one cable to the computer. On the minus side it doesn't support DDC so you can't control the brightness from the computer (for example to match it to the ambient light if your monitor doesn't support it).

Pros

• Very small size, solid metal construction
• Can be used for both USB-C power delivery and data, at the same time HDMI is being used.
• Price is fair

Cons

• Like any HDMI to USB-C adapter, can get very hot under load as it has to convert the signal. Buy a Displayport to USB-C connector instead if you want a product that will keep cool and your monitor supports Displayport.
