Fantastic sound experience
The deep sound from this sub can be quite penetrating in a great way, can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Quality sound
I have had this product for 10 days. It was bought along with the rear speakers SARS5 to connect to my HT-A7000 Sound bar which I have had for a while now. So far I am pleased with all products giving a very realistic theatre sound. I found the additional speakers very easy to connect to the soundbar. I bought direct from Sony online and was very pleased with the speed of service. From my experience to date I would recommend the sound system. Although not cheap it is worth paying for the quality if you can afford it.

Wasn't sure if I was going to go for the smaller subwoofer due to the size of the room, but it handles very well when put through its paces and compliments the soundbar and rears perfectly even at lower levels
Good base compliments the subwoofer.
Sits near the sofa’s easy listening with the subwoofer at the front great bit of kit. The sound quality is better then I imagined when turned up a notch when the wife is not in.
Completes the Bar 9 setup
I bought the Bar 9 in the hope that I wouldn't need a separate sub woofer and for a few weeks it was 'fine'. After getting a good deal on the SW5, I can say that the addition definitely delivers that extra punch. Fairly straightforward setup too.
Deep, velvety bass
I teamed-up this sub-woofer with my Theatre 9 soundbar and, as good as the soundbar is, adding the SA-SW5 really does make a noticeable difference. The depth of the bass is controllable via the remote control or via the Bravia Connect app.
It's easy to set up and to pair with the soundbar and you can have it working within minutes of plugging it in.

Great but.....
It's a great sub but has limitations, only works with Sony wireless soundbars and can't add more than one sub 😕
Also, it needs a wired line in for better connectivity outside the Sony family. For my sins I have two of these Sony subs.
Great addition to my surround setup!
I bought this around a month ago to pair with my Sony Theatre Quad Speakers. So much better than my previous Sonos soundbar and sub setup, really pleased with my purchase
Excellent subwoofer i highly recommend it
I highly recommend it. Everything is as expected. I suggest to set it up with sound bar and up firing speakers. Step up and installation is soo easy
My new sub-woofer SA-SW5
I was already astounded by my Sony Quad Theatre system which has made an incredible difference to my A95L Sony Bravia XR OLED TV as it adds a whole new experience to this incredible TV. As my hearing is not good even with hearing aids, I was keen to get the most out of my new set up, so I decided I must get the sub woofer unit as well, just to see if I was missing anything more! I was delighted once I got everything up and running. Clearly buying this wonderful TV was just the beginning, now I literally have “All the bells and whistles!” What more could I say, apart from Thanks Sony. Ian H from Norwich Norfolk UK.

Brilliant Sub Woofer
I have now had the Sony sub woofer forctwo months and it has really enhanced the sound quality of the TV with sound bar as well. It makes a real difference to viewing TV and music channels too.

Best quality bass
I bought this few weeks ago I thought there was not going to be a proper base because my tv is Sony that has a terrible noise but now with the soundbar 9 and this subwoofer it’s the best as its quality and it is very good for like an home cinema.

Great sound - really fills the room
I bought this along with a pair of SA-RS5 to go with a HT-A9000 soundbar. Everything functions together really well and the sound is amazing.
I have a Samsung 65" TV with EARC, a Sony 4K bluray player and a Panasonic HDR. Unfortunately they do not play particularly well together. The only problem is lipsync. It is always off no matter what source I use. And the annoyance is the lips move AHEAD of the visuals not behind so I can't tweak the delay. Also, on Atmos content sometimes the sound cuts completely and I have to adjust the EARC setting on my TV to downgrade the sound. So, beware SAMSUN TV owners.
Very Good Soundbar
Surprised by the size of the sub but it does a very good job. I would like the app to allow us to go more in depth to play around with more settings to tailor it better but that’s just a personal preference. Overall very happy
Best subwoofer
I bought this fabulous subwoofer last month but before I bought it I was confused on which one to buy between SA-SW3 & SA-SW5 so I watched some reviews on YouTube and read many reviews before making up my mind to buy SA-SW5. I never regret buying this fabulous subwoofer last. The good thing I love so much about this wonderful subwoofer is that you can’t pinpoint where the sound is coming from. All my gadgets are Sony.
Loses connection with doundbar
I have had this for about 2 months and I am finding that it keeps losing connection with the soundbar. I can hear the bass disappear intermittently when using to watch tv, movies or listen to music. Worked through some general trouble shooting with Sony and now will need to contact them again (but they only provide call support mon-fri)
