Three years later, completely useless. Batteries won’t hold a charge for more than 15 minutes.

Apparently a known fault, but out of warranty

I'm extremely pleased with my recently purchased headphones. They've got good noise cancellation features, a comfortable fit and great sound quality for the price. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

These used to be good until a software update killed the left hand earbud which now only lasts a few minutes

Battery doesn't hold charge or show correct state of charge, will randomly disconnect as well

Noise cancelling, no matter what setting I try, is a nightmare. Multi point doesn't seem to want to play ball.

Apart from that these are brilliant but I would recommend to anyone. Had sony products all my life from my first Walkman in the 80s to vaio laptops, psps, speakers you name it.

The headphones are very good but unfortunately the charging stopped working properly a couple of years after purchasing them. One of the in-ear phones stopped charging as much as the other. Now after a full charge they don't get near a 100% charge and only last for an hour or so before needing to be charged again.

I don't now if this is an issue with all of this model of headphones.

Great headphones. Sound is excellent. My first noise cancelling so blown away by how effective (I can’t hear my kids 😂)

After an update, the charged left battery dies in about 10 minutes. The left and right battery don't charge to 100% anymore but stop charging at around 60, and the module/charger only charges to about 75% and then stops charging.

The earbuds claim to be fully charged but now only last 15-20 minutes. Bluetooth connectivity is average and does tend to disconnect often. The app is horrible to use. However, the audio quality is good.

After 18 months the battery fails and the earbuds will not charge. You may as well purchase a far cheaper option.

I’m not going to rehash everything that has been written online about these earbuds. Suffice to say, a firmware update by Sony has all but rendered these earbuds useless. Battery in the case and right earbud deplete fully in about 2 1/2 hours. Battery level in the left earbud still has plenty of power.

Sony may have got their wish to ensure users buy a replacement. I will - but they will definitely NOT be made by Sony.

Unfortunately I was looking forward to have them.cos I love sony brand and have few of ur products but this one was Unfortunately full miss... sound is great noise cancellation superb battery very bad holding only 30 min and need to recharge case holds only for 2 recharges ... and had to return them ... shame

The battery will drain really quickly on the earbuds. Even if you start with fully charged earbuds, using them for 5 minutes will drain it down to zero and turn it off. This is very frustrating!

Although all the reviews online say "Buy these if you can't afford the XM5 model", don't buy them. One little firmware update and they're useless. The Left Ear battery life drops to about 15-20 minutes. This is by far and away the worst purchase of Sony equipment I have ever made in my life.

The battery drains quickly, especially in the left earbud which lasts less than 10 minutes. The headphones don't fit properly in your ears, and initially, I thought this was just the future design. However, even if you walk a little fast, they fall out of your ears. Reaching customer service is difficult, and for this price, I expect them to last longer or have additional service centers for repairs. However, I'm not sure about the cost yet.

Great sound and features. Comfortable fit. Totally let down by batteries. They now only last about 20 minutes. Read that it could possibly be software so have updated but still have a terribly frustrating product. I have now gone back to using wired headphones.

Bought these earbuds nearly three years ago and the right earbud drains slot quicker than the left. I absolutely loved these earbuds when I bought them. They replaced the Sony WF-XB700 only purely because they weren't compatible with the Sony connect app. I still have my XB700 and they still to this day hold their charge I think they're nearly 5 years old at this point. Also I was disappointed with the volume level out the 1000XM4 so had to use a third party app to boost the volume. It's such a shame for expensive earbuds to not last even 4 years is disappointing. I'm afraid if I upgrade to the WF-1000XM5 will I be here in another three years with the same issue?

It only happened after the last update the buds got. Everything was ok up to that point. I don't know if an update can fix them however if it does fix them I'll update my review.

Just very unhappy now.

After about a month the ear plugs began disintegrating and now after four years the lefthand bud will not hold a charge.

Ostin tämän vajaa kaksi vuotta sitten. Äänenlaatu ja toiminnot erinomaisia. Kuulokkeet eivät vain lataudu enää kunnolla. Toiseen saa maksimissaan 80% täyteen ja virta tyhjenee noin 20min aikana. Samaa ongelmaa näyttäisi olevan useammilla, joten on Sonyn tuotteessa laajempi vika.

Had them replaced two days ago and now perform as expected.

Bought 1 for myself and another for my wife. Both started developing battery problems within a year, and 1 became unusable at around the 2 year mark, outside of warranty. Since this happened to both pairs, i doubt the quality of the batteries used
