Purchased to replace a Philips steam generator iron that was 10 to 12 years old. This one was 2/3rds the price, is more compact, much lighter, has better features and is just as easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could not use this on the end of my ironing board, it was not stable. I used it on the actual board, which cut down on the space for ironing. I found it did not really get hot enough for some fabrics, and constantly leaked water out of the sole plate. Does not have any controls for the temperature, or different fabric settings.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This steam generator iron is excellent when you have a large load to work through, heats up fast, light weight so no sore arms, large water tank meaning less filling, the vertical steam is great for delicate items, the damp boost is fantastic for stubborn creases, Saftey features brilliant can lock the iron into position on the main body reducing the risk of injury when in transit it storage also the fact the cord can be hidden away is very good

Another smart thing I noticed was how light the iron was and feels comfortable while ironing. The design is also sleek and functional.

It does not have a temperature regulator as this is done automatically by the iron recognising the type of fabric been ironed so you do not need to worry about temperature settings.

The soleplate is beautifully designed and extra smooth to glide over most types of fabrics.

It has a very powerful steam so you need to get used to applying pressure on the button.

Overall I was very pleased with the performance of the steam generator iron and believe it would serve us for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this Steam generator iron for a couple of weeks and I’m finding it amazing. It has good size, feels very sturdy, good compact and lightweight, easy to store. The size of the water cavity is great and it lasted a long time before needed a refill. It heats up quick and it is very easy on use, even my time spending on ironing has decreased. The steam is extremely powerful and it takes all the creases out in just one swipe.

I am very satisfied with the performance of my steam generator iron and I highly recommended it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very large iron but does what its supposed to. removes creases with ease and halves the time spent ironing. looks great. however my only niggle would be that it is very noisy when using the steam option.It didn't bother me but i can imagine it may bother some. it glides across the clothing effortlessly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend this Iron to anyone who want's to cut down on ironing time.It is a great little iron.I say little, because it is Compact, not too heavy, but it's not light either. I like the fact that it glides over the clothes easily you only need to put light pressure on it. You also do not need to adjust the temperature on this iron, which i love. It leaves no shine, or no burns if you accidentally put the iron down on top of your clothing a bit too long. The iron is lockable, so when it's not in use, put it back on it's pump and lock into place, it won't accidentally drop to the floor if you catch it, like i have done with many irons. The water in the tank last's ages too. Even better is my Husband likes using it, so he get's the ironing done too now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Phillips Perfect Care Compact Essential Steam Generator Iron has a smooth, effortless glide and truly makes ironing a simplistic pleasure. Tough creases vanished within seconds and the duration it took to iron a number of shirts was noticeably shorter in comparison to a standard iron.

Additionally,The water tank is a very reasonable size and means that the user does not have to regularly re

fill the tank, which can be an inconvenience when using a more conventional iron.

The length of the lead on the Phillips perfect care iron is just the right length because it allows for a necessary freedom of movement to iron with ease without being too long and thus becoming problematic.

I would recommend this product as it makes one of the most dreaded household chores less of a chore and more of a pleasure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great compact steam iron. Lead and cords very generous so able to reach from the sockets to board. Heats up really fast and very powerful. Ideal for steaming those garments which need to stay on a hanger. Tank takes a hefty amount of water, ensuring your steam stays continuous for an age. Love the lock feature between the iron and the generator. Great safety feature! Irons out those stubborn creases in a flash! Blink and you will literally miss them!!! I did find that the garments were a little damp after using the iron; perhaps due to the powerful bursts of steam! Would have been an all round 5 if not for this. Amazing products, would definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this iron i was a little sceptical at first with not having to change the dial for different garments but i was wrong you can go from ironing a delicate top to jeans without a hitch, made my ironing time much quicker you don't need to wait for any other iron to heat up or cool down , if jeans or other garments are really creased then just press the steam button, it has a large tank too so you don't have to fill it up all the time when doing a large pile of ironing

Also very lightweight yet super powerful and water tank is quite big so saves time when ironing. It has a smart feature which means that you do not have to turn a dial to select the correct temperature for the garment you are ironing. The iron selects the temperature for you. I use it to iron a variety of clothing and have not burnt one item yet! It has an ambient blue light on it that flashes while the iron is heating up and is stable once the iron is ready for use.

The iron has a steam trigger which is conveniently positioned under the handle. It provides an effective blast of steam when held down and a powerful blast of steam if pressed twice.

It is compact and the wires are easily stored in a compartment within the iron.

For its size it holds a good amount of water meaning you can iron without having to constantly refill the water compartment.

The easy fill compartment allows you to refill the iron with ease and you do not have to wait to refill it, it can be refilled at any time.

There is a lock on the iron which allows you to fix the iron to the water compartment once you have finished with it. This also allows you to safely carry the iron.

There is a calc clean reminder feature on the iron which is great and the iron comes with a calc container that allows you to use the calc function effectively and safely.

Overall this iron has made ironing quicker and simpler for me. I haven't had to do my ironing in any order of material type and my clothing has been crease free.

I quickly ironed several loads of clothing in just over an hour but really struggled with bedding as I had no place to store the water tank without the lead getting under my feet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Philips PerfectCare Compact Essential Steam generator iron for a few weeks now. And WOW, what an iron it is! It has a large water tank that can store plenty of water before it needs refilled. Once it heats up, which takes a minute or so, it can generate a great amount of steam. When you begin to iron you notice how easily it removes the creases from my washing, it just seems to glide with such ease. It have never been so easy to iron. I find my self doing the same amount of items in half the time. When I'm finished, there is a nifty little lock to attach the iron to the base for easy lifting and transporting. I would highly recommend this iron.

Although a compact model the water tank is a fantastic capacity meaning it doesn't have to be constantly refilled so no continuous trips to the tap.

The iron is a lightweight model too so great for my weak wrists.

My white work shirts are always heavily creased after a hot wash and the creases difficult to remove but this steam generator was a lifesaver for me. Press and release the steam button for short bursts of steam or hold down for longer stream of steam , no need to spray to water, the steam does all of the hard work for you.

I found the creases on all different fabrics were easy to remove and with the strong bursts of steam I was only having to iron one side on each trouser leg so time saving too.

If you find crease removal time consuming then give this a go, you wont regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have wanted a iron like this for ages. It glides through my washing so quickly. What would feel like was taking ages now doesn't. There are a few things that are alittle annoying, like the two minutes to heat up. (this is just me being picky.) also that there is no heat changer for the plates itself as doesn't seem very hot (probably is. Just my opinion) and get the creases out without the steam. Its not massive which is nice and for storing and the tank hold a decent amount of water. (more than my kettle). Which means doesn't need filling every 10mins. I ironed three loads of washing tonight and still plenty of water in the tank. Overall I'm extremely happy with this iron.

I'll start with the only downfall - I have to fill it with water pretty often

But otherwise its cut my ironing time down by around 30 minutes which is amazing

I often struggle with the odd few creases but this gets them out really well

I was instantly impressed with the appearance of the iron, modern looking and better than a standard 'boring' looking one. It is obviously bulkier than a standard iron but not overly heavy so was still convenient to use. Not having to change the material and temperature takes a little getting used to as still worried it wouldn't work as it should but it worked well.

Overall the results using it were good, some stubborn creases took a few goes over but certainly helps to quicken the task.

The crease removal is great and iv noticed that I do not have to go over the item I'm ironing lots of times to get it nice and flat which has decreased the amount of time I have to stand ironing for! The steam can be very loud but this is only a small con and not really significant to me at all. Fantastic product I would definantly not be without this iron now.

It’s massively reduced my ironing time, because of its smart features i.e you can leave the iron (plate down) on the ironing board whilst adjusting the clothing or getting the next item, this saves no only time but also saves from wrist strain (to be honest I didn’t even realise this existed until I used this iron) as there’s no lifting it in and out of the iron holder part of the ironing board. Also there’s no more changing temperatures and waiting for the iron to cool or heat up before you carry on, now you just slap the clothes on the ironing board and iron away without a care in the world (well just check all your labels to make sure there’s no X through the iron symbols before you start)

The plate is light and easy to manoeuvre and still gives out alot of crease busting steam. You don’t have to worry about the temperature setting and the steam generated gives a brilliant result with minimum effort. The water reserve doesn’t need topping up all the time while you’re using it either. I love this iron.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really easy to use no messing about or worrying if On the right temperature setting glides effortlessly over clothes/fabrics easily iron my shirts whilst hung up against door dies the curtains whilst hung I even ironed the bedding after freshly making the beds up heats up really quick around 2mins and last a lengthy time, holds alot of water so no need to keep filling, no leaks, has decent size lead so reaches good distance, really good size looks really nice and has de scaling piece for self cleaning overall iron is more enjoyable a lot more easier to do and I get through it in less than half the time I did before owning this iron, I would definitely recommend as this iron is flawless my only tiny issue is I would of like a little filling jug for the water tank to be included although this is not an issue just a preference
