I have been using this machine now for three years, and it has always kept the air very clean. and the app has been useful.

I really recommend this air purifier I’m really impressed with the quality of air it was noticeable from the first hour of use. I have placed it in the living room downstairs and it covers entire house, a 3 bedroom house of aprox 75 sq m, it’s very efficient this is what I was looking for.

I chose this filter so that our new puppy wouldn't make the house smell and also to help with my fathers allergies when he visits. I have to say, its an absolute amazing piece of kit! Amazing how much dust/particles/hairs etc it picks up - I'm rather astonished at it's efficiency so much so that I have bought another for upstairs and a smaller one for my office!

Packaging. Easy to unpack with plastic bag covering and instructions sealed in a plastic bag. Not heavy but a little awkward due to size of unit. Cardboard ends to hold product securely look recyclable. Basic visual instructions printed on inside flaps of box - useful idea.

Setup. The instruction booklet is good with plenty of diagrams in the initial sections and is written in clear English. As one progresses through the booklet there are plenty of top panel diagrams to show various operational modes etc along with written instructions. A section on troubleshooting with suggested solutions completes the manual which again provides help later.

A tag protruding from the base unit catches your eye as you unpack and with the aid of the instruction booklet instructs the user to open the lower cover - stiff but ok - and remove the filter cartridge . All plastic packaging needs to be removed - just the bag in this case - and the filter cartridge is then replaced in its housing. Not difficult again but requires a little manipulation to insert. The unit is then ready for use.

First use. This model has a Wi-Fi capability if you wish to use the unit with a smartphone or tablet - handy but not essential for the unit to operate. In this case the app was downloaded with no difficulty as instructed. The instructions here fade away somewhat with just a brief reference to launching the app selecting "Connect a new device" and then just the usual "follow the instructions" in the app. Perhaps a little more information could be given here as to the steps within the app to connect to the system eg registering etc - which I had already done but some may not - being their first purchase.

Use. The purifier can be used from the top panel easily with a touch panel and various indicators with a illuminated coloured ring to indicate air quality - explained fully in two tables in the booklet along with a large numeric display on the panel. However I am intrigued by the order in section 3 - turning on and off appears after the section on the wi-fi indicator and the air quality light instructions - this should be the first area one meets in the book. Nothing happens until the unit is switched on !!

The rest of section 3 gives sketches and text describing the various settings and indications which the user can alter as they wish in a fairly obvious manner from the top panel - nothing is mentioned as to the extra features contained within the app - scheduled on/off , data recording and setting the type of environment the unit will be used in. This seems a bit of an error to me and might encourage users to make more use of the features if mentioned.

Sections 4 and 5 deal with care and cleaning of the unit along with filter replacement (at present around £60) and the booklet finishes with troubleshooting already mentioned.

I found it very easy to set up and use and seems to work efficiently from its own figures of course. The fan is very quiet in sleep mode only becoming intrusive at the fastest turbo mode but most of the time it was in auto which was barely audible over conversation or the TV.

Using the app I have set up a daily run just to check the air quality and then to ensure that the air is ok even during the winter period when ventilation indoors may be less than perfect. This works fine.

We shall look forward to the summer when it's purification will be really tested .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Series 2000 Air Purifier is a game changer.

I have a dog, three Guinea pigs and I’m a smoker. I never realised quite how polluted the air in my house was before. Within 10 minutes of use, the air purifier had done its magic and the difference was amazing.

The display tells you the level of pollution in your room when you first turn it on, mine was at 500 (the highest level of pollution). In a short space of time, this has reduced to between 1 and 25.

On automatic setting, you just hear a low hum which isn’t distracting and on night mode you can barely tell it’s turned on.

It looks smart and modern and the filter is very easy to clean.

My only criticism would be the accompanying app. I could not get the app to work on any of my devices despite trying numerous times.

Overall, we all love it!

You need to have an account with Philips to get the app, the machine will work without it but its a far better experience to use it. We've been using it in different rooms, the lounge, kitchen and bedrooms. The app doesn't allow (I think) to tailor for specific rooms, but that's not really an issue. Once you turn the app on you can control all aspects of the purifier, as well as check it's progress and check your levels. Very intuitive and seems very quick to recycle the air in a room. So far very impressed, the real test (and when it will get the most use) will come in the summer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The purifier arrived well presented in sturdy packaging which gave a hint as to the quality of the product inside. The colour of the purifier means it will fit into most people's décor. The base is grey and the top cream. Its size means it will fit into even the smallest room without being obtrusive (600mm high and 250mm in diameter). There is a control panel on top that is easy to use, this has a circular light running around the outside that changes colour depending on the quality of the air in the room.

The purifier operates at 4 speeds, Auto, Turbo, Gentle and sleep mode. I used auto and sleep mode. In sleep mode the unit is silent and does not disturb sleep at all but is still able to keep the air clean. Turbo mode is ideal to clean the air of cooking smells if used near the kitchen. The air leaves the purifier in a vortex, so it is distributed evenly around the room.

There is an App that supports remote operation of the purifier. It can be set to switch on automatically and the speed can be set as well.

The purifier sends alerts to the App when it detects sudden changes in air quality. I received an alert and on investigating the reason I discovered that a large gas leak had developed under the floorboards in my bedroom.

I found that at night I was sleeping better due the fact that I was breathing clean air.

Overall, this is an excellent product, cleaning the air efficient and cost-effective way. My smart meter didn’t show any changes when the purifier switched on and off in auto mode.

If I could find one fault it was there are no hand holds to carry the unit from one room to another.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a sufferer of allergies such as pollen, dust mites and pet hair, I was excited to try out this air purifier to see whether I would see any improvement in my health.

From opening the box, I was impressed with the stylish look and feel of the unit. The solid build quality and simple and intuitive nature of its features and design is what you would come to expect of a product manufactured by Phillips. With a simple arrangement of touch sensitive buttons and a vibrant colour changing ring which alters with the air quality level, this purifier is a pretty sleek and easy-to-use piece of kit.

The unit was quick and easy to setup using the Clean Home app and leaving the Auto Mode on 24/7 has allowed me to leave it do its thing. The app is used to monitor the current and past air qualities, but also as a remote control which cleverly works away from the home.

The handy Night Mode allows for the unit to continue its air purification at a low speed, but in a whisper quiet fashion.

I have used the unit in a multitude of settings, from our kitchen-lounge-diner to our bedroom, and can confidently say that it works very well in all. The unit does a great job at absorbing smells and smoke from cooking in the kitchen and instantly firing up into action whilst making the bed, fluffing a cushion, or drawing the curtains in the morning.

The verdict – it works! I no longer wake up with a stuffy, sniffly nose or the need to constantly clear my throat throughout the day. I have also noticed a considerable improvement in my quality of sleep and would therefore highly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this puffier very easy to set up, and the app very handy and simple to use. I liked that the cover was magnetic so easy to click into place, and also the white and gray colour matched our interior nicely.

The colour changing display made it easier to identify the quality of the air in the room, and the auto setting meant we didn’t need to worry about turning off as it turns off itself. We had a couple of cooking incidents where the cooking smoke/smells made the display turn red, but with the good size of this unit, it had the air quality back to normal again in 30minutes.

Can’t wait to use it in the spring time to see how it handles pollen. could do with an extra handle/grip area just to easily move it around.

Having never owned an air purifier before I was unsure as to what to expect but I have been pleasantly surprised by the performance of this unit over the past 2 weeks.

The unit is quite large but this is needed to allow it to perform to its full capacity, but don't let this put you off as it will still fit comfortably in an average size room without looking out of place.

Have been mainly operating on 'auto' mode during the day and evening and, unless the unit ramps up, the audible output is comparable to that of a small desk fan. Even at max flow the noise is easily tolerable. During the night the unit is set to 'sleep' mode and is whisper quiet whilst still performing its purification.

The Philips 'Clean Home +' app works well and the synch between the two is seamless with the app allowing remote control of the unit. The app itself will give notification whenever the unit detects a significant change in the allergen index or particle count - the unit adjusts its operating speed to suit until the numbers reduce.

Note that the unit is very sensitive - picks up aerosol deodorant use in another room!

But overall, simply plug in, switch on and let it do its thing.

It is still early days to see what the 'health' benefits will be but I have noted that over the period that the unit has been in use the overall 'Indoor Allergen Index' and 'PM2.5' count has reduced since the unit was put in to service. Yes, there are spikes as expected due to air movements and use of aerosols but the average figure has remained low with continued operation and as such one can only assume that the air is being cleaned and there are benefits to be had.

The image below shows the surface condition of the filter after its continued use; the light dust coating simply vacuumed away. What is important is the non-visible particulates that will have been captured by the HEPA filter (replacement cost is not too great so don't be put off by running costs).

One does vacuum the house regularly as this unit is not a substitute for that task!

Plan to loan to a relative in the new year who has a chest condition to see if this makes a notable positive change to their health and if so will hopefully remember to update this review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was initially skeptical about the air purifier as I've had variable experiences with smaller units in the past that have been loud or ineffective at removing dust and pet hair from the air.

I set the purifier up in my home office and was surprised at how good it looks as a piece of hardware, how solid it feels while being lightweight, and how quick and easy the setup was, which included the time taken to download and install the Philips Clean Home+ app (more about that in a little while).

I had just cleared a good amount of dust and pet hair (5 cats) out of the vents on my computer and set the purifier to work running on automatic. The fan ran quickly to begin with but the sound wasn't intrusive on video calls, nor was it distracting or annoying. The display and touch-sensitive controls are intuitive to use, and the inset LED ring that changes from blue through red depending on air quality is a really nice touch. There's even a sleep mode that keeps the purifier running at a low speed but turns everything off which is ideal for watching movies and times when I need to concentrate on what I'm doing.

As an added benefit, the air circulation in the room meant that with the heating on, I warmed up much quicker - there's a tiny radiator on the other side of the room and it usually takes a good half hour to feel any kind of warmth, with the purifier running, this was cut down to about 10 minutes.

Back to the computer's vents; it's been a month since I cleaned them out, and there isn't a spec of dust or pet hair to be found, and I've noticed that my breathing has improved greatly and that I'm coughing far less often. My eyes don't feel gritty or grainy after a couple hours working at my keyboard either, so that's a huge plus for me too.

Lastly, the Philips Clean Home+ app - this does everything you'd hope for and feeds the data geek in me with air quality history metrics which for me, is a nice to have but not essential. Connecting the app and purifier to WiFi was a doddle and for nothing more than my own amusement, I set notifications to tell me when air quality fell below a certain level. Sadly, I didn't receive any notifications despite having run the vacuum for a while which always creates some dust. The purifier had detected the change in air quality but the app didn't say any different. That's a minor detraction, so I'll write it off.

The ability to schedule different modes is useful, meaning that during quieter times, sleep mode can be activated with no loss in the quality of purification.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this product really easy to set up with the android app from the playstore, with really straight forward controls. It has a few different modes with auto increasing or decreasing speed as needed, and the app giving real-time alerts as it detects poor air quality. Turbo mode purifies a room (6m x 10m) really fast although this is its loudest setting, but in gentle mode you won't even know it is there.

The touchscreen on top was nice and intuitive, simple to switch through modes or on and off, and the app keeps a track of the air quality over time.

I got a puppy whilst using this product and was really pleased to find it was excellent at keeping the various smells away and the room smelling fresh.

All in all, good value for money for anyone looking for a smart air purifier

I did not like the size of the product when I took it out of the box. Not sure why, but I was expecting something smaller. I am lucky to have a rather large lounge area and so therefore was able to put it out of sight. The product itself is not an unattractive one but just a bit big for me.

Setting up the use of the filter was very easy, accompanied by very user friendly instructions.

The touchscreen pad is sleek and looks great when it lights up...Unfortunately, the downside is that it can attract children's curiosity and a change in settings.

Connecting to the WIFI was a slight faff, but I am sure that this is more to do with my network than anything else. Instructions for setting up once again user friendly.

The product itself has provided me with regular updates following downloading the app.

Quite remarkable how poor the air quality can be indoors..who knew!!!!

However, the app enables you to change mode to improve the air quality even when your not there.

I noted that there has been a significant reduction in dust/fine dust in my living room.

As a rule i dust everyday as I often keep a window open for ventilation. Since using the air purifier this has reduced to every other day.

As a hayfever sufferer I am excited at the prospect of being able to reduce the pollen levels within my home using the Phillips air purifier. On the basis of my experience so far I am optimistic that the air purifier will be my weapon against hayfever (alongside anti-histamines)

All in all I would recommend this product, there is a noticable difference to the air quality in my living room.

Easy to get started. Using the app to connect with wifi was straightforward. The air quality noticeably improved really quickly. Unit is virtually silent on night mode so was great to have running all night. I like the slight cooling effect while it's running, doesn't make room cold but definitely fresher. Think it will be really great in summer when I suffer a little from hay fever. Dropped one star as the unit as quite large and according to the instructions needs 30cm clear space around and above it - so not ideal if you are tight on space. Haven't had to change filter yet so cannot comment on that.

The buttons on the product were also easy to understand and work with and the phone can easily change the settings in no time when you aren't near it. I can feel a difference from before using the product and after, it feels more fresh and I know it's much more cleaner thanks to the product. The sleep mode is very beneficial too, you wouldn't even notice it's there, there's no sound at all. This can be most useful in the summer as there will be a lot of allergens and all year round there will be dust too. So I would highly recommend this product

My first impression was that it was a little larger than I had expected however it fitted beautifully with the decor of the living room and I barely noticed it there . Out of the settings, the most used was auto as I found this to be sufficient and fairly quiet. The setup was very straightforward following the directions provided. We also used the sleep mode at night which was perfect. Overall I believe this worked really well. My son has been coughing a lot less, previously he was coughing a fair amount in the early mornings due to his asthma. The only drawback I have is it does blow cooler air which in the winter on the turbo setting can make you chilly, however with the heating on this is not so much of a problem.

It was quickly set up and removed the smell quickly and efficiently. You can notice the air quality in the room after a few minuets.Its easy to use and gives digital readings. The sleep mode is very quiet.

I was quite excited to receive this product as I had been contemplating buying an air purifier for a while. I was not disappointed.

The product is quite large, but then it needs to be to do this job of cleaning dirty London air! It was very easy to set up and I had it up and running inside 10 minutes. I was surprised how dirty it said the air in my flat was! The noise was not too bad, it soon faded into the background. After about 10 minutes I really started to feel the benefits, the air I was breathing really did feel cleaner, I could really tell the difference this unit was making.

One of the good features about this unit is the fact it can be controlled via an app. This was easy to download and install, it was available in the app store. The app does have some good features, you can turn the unit on and off from the comfort of your sofa! You can see how good the air quality is. There is also some good information that explains what each level means.

Overall I was very happy with this unit, the only real downside is the cost of the replacement filters, especially as its recommended to change every six months! If the filters were cheaper this would have got 5 stars.

I suffer from hay fever but after these two days could feel the difference in my breathing so would definitely recommended this product to people with allergy issues. The air coming out of the purifier is nice, chilled, and very pleasant, just like normal fresh air. The machine runs very quietly but the only criticism I have is that the machine does not turn off automatically after its achieved the best level of air quality. This is because when I turned the machine on I had level 7 reading then after an hour this dropped to level 1 and stayed on this until I manually changed it to sleep mode. Thank you for giving me opportunity to test this product which is doing a great job in really improving the air quality in my house.

I like that I am able to control the product from anywhere using the App and like that it has different settings.

My purifier is in the lounge area and therefore is mainly set on auto however I like that is I was to move to the bedroom there is a night mode which is really quiet and would not disturb sleep.

The product is easy to understand and use I like the use of different colours to indicate what the air condition is like.

I have had the product for around 3 weeks and have noticed the air feels cleaner and also there is a lot less dust and I’m only dusting once a week instead of daily which is fantastic.

The product has lost a star as the unit is bigger than I expected and therefore requires space. The app can also be glitchy and I found if difficult initially to connect the device however this can be solved by closing down the app and re-starting so not too much of an issue.

I was looking for a good product and happened to use this Phillip Series 2000 Philips Air Purifier. I must say that it definitely works. I can see a clean room with no small dust particles on the windowsill. Carpet is clean too and also the study desk. It also help in circulating air in the room.

General Functioning:

Very quiet in operation and you might not even notice that it is in the room unless it is a pin drop silence. Automatic function is better to use to avoid the fuss of manual setting however various modes of execution helps you to quickly achieve good air quality levels.

App Feature:

App is very responsive and an easy mechanism to operate it remotely. You get alerts from the device and you can see them in the notification bar. Philips have to gear up in terms of making their app more useful. e.g. you may notice that the app provides you with a clean interface and shows what is important however the graph, alert timings are not navigable. You cannot traverse the graph that shows the alert level. Another thing I noticed that push notification remains silent most of the time and appears only when you open the app and keep it in the memory. it is annoying because you don't know when and what action is causing the pollens to go up in a closed room. it can be dusting, opening the wardrobe and pull a pile of clothing or opening your window etc.

In my opinion app features are soft features and can be improved with over the air update however in terms of device it is a wonderful quite addition to your room. Thinking of buying for my bedroom too.
