After upgrading to mirrorless I wanted some universal prime lens. Decided to treat myself and but this time more premium version. Used nifty-fifty in the past, so was used to this focal length. The way new set up works, made me not interested to check if cheaper vesrion would be close. Like it a lot and don't regret money spent.

This is an amazing lens for portraits, especially at weddings.

The bokeh wide open is phenomenal. Only thing I don’t like is the amount of dust behind the first element. Though they don’t show in images, even when closed down, it’s frustrating to see them, especially a larger piece in the middle 🤦🏻‍♂️

Smooth and smart. Very sensitive in a good way with lush imaging potential and capabilities.

Vaihdoin 22.9.2023 Sony Zeiss 55 f1,8:n tähän 50 mm f1,2 GM:ään, ja tämä on ollut siitä lähtien koko ajan kiinni A1:ssä. Olen erittäin tyytyväinen kaikkeen mitä 50 mm prime voi parhaimmillaan tarjota. Sisäkuvaus ilman salamaa onnistuu hienosti. Iltakuvaus ulkona pimeässä onnistuu myös ilman salamaa ja jalustaa. Tarkennus on paljon parempi ja nopeampi kuin edellisessä objektiivisssani, ja pienten lasten kuvaaminen onnistuu nyt helposti. Myös Clear image zoomin käyttö lintukuvauksessakin onnistuu tällä. Todella hieno ja monikäyttöinen super -objektiivi.

Having wanted this lens for sometime I finally Managed to raise the funds to buy it. It doesn’t disappoint, to me the 50mm focal length is the centre of my lens collection and to have F1.2 makes it even better. Yes it’s a bit larger and heavier but not by much. If you can afford the price then get it you won’t be disappointed

Finally decided to purchase the Sony 50mm 1.2 lens. One word Wow, the build quality is second to none and build as good as my other gm glass. I purchased the nifty 50 as I felt my 24-70 2.8 gm mk2 was making me a bit of a lazy photographer lol. This lens is epic and the quality it produces with my A7Rv is phenominal. The quality of Bokah when shooting wide open brings a new perspective of photos opportunities, which totally transforms our art and creates a different perspective on images we create. I am loving this lens and its attached to my camera nearly all the time it's heavier than the norm but hey if you want the best it's not a downside. I can carry this lens all day long without really noticing it. If you want the best 50mm period I urge you to buy it, your photography will take on a new dimension. I simply love it.

This lens is exceptional, fast accurate AF, renders beautifully, and is really well built. It's not the lightest or smallest lens, but it is pretty small and light for a lens of this type. The only negative point for me is the optical vignetting causing cat eye bokeh at the edges when shot wide open and I do have another lens that performs better in this area, but this is just preference and a minor point.

I’m incredibly impressed by how well this lens focuses in low light, even wide open it’s super sharp. Well worth the money.

I have had the opportunity to photograph my grandchildren with this lens. Fast focus and razor sharp. Also used it for landscape superb lens. Really pleased with this lens. Cannot fault it at all.

A fantastic, very sharp and very fast lens. Amazing for portraits and Street night photography. Worth the price tag.

Very fast focussing, great clarity, contrast very sharp, beautiful bokeh

I've had this lens for about 5 months now, and taken over 2k pictures with it. I'm consistently happy with the results that I get, no matter what I am shooting. The image is always edge to edge perfect with no abortions, and beautiful bokeh. This lens has quickly become a favourite, and invariably packed as part of my kit for most trips.
