Well, I have this camera for a while now, I love it definitely, but to compare with the price of it, and how much it costs to make a complete set of it, what it needs to perform its best, is very expensive.

And this is not only about Sony, unfortunately all the companies nowadays think about money and profit more than how they can make customers and people happy.

So it is very obvious that it is based on earning more with selling more products, rather than making it easy going for the customers.

Having used Blackmagic cameras i fancied a change, purchased the FX3 and never looked back. It's a beautiful bit of kit with stunning footage. I'm now using it as my main camera and contemplating selling my blackmagics so I can get another Sony as a B Cam

Bought recently to upgrade the quality of my video production but keep form factor and weight down, and it's turned out to be the best investment I've made in my gear and reflects incredibly well on my brand. The insane low-light capability of the FX3 is genuinely game-changing and allows so much more flexibility in my run & gun setups.

I bought this camera a month ago and very happy to own it as it gives the best output.

I expected camera to be great. It's MORE than Great. I love it. A bit of a learning curve, but once you take the time to learn how to use this amazing video camera, you will fall in love with it.

I bought this a month ago and I’m happy that I did.

I have been using the FX3 for one wedding and one music video during July 2024. There was so many issues wile recording. It started disconnecting on and on. I had the second body A7iv but I was stressed and trying to use the FX3 as I’ve setup settings for it. When I look on my memory card after the ring exchange nothing was showing. I send my memory care to the manufacturer to recover and I’ve received the recovery footage but nothing showing what I needed. Then I try to use the FX3 for a music video. There again the operating system was given me many issues. Footage have been recorded but when I try to view them there is an error showing the card is not recognised, reinsert the card. I did many times but the same issue. I insert the same card to A7iv and it was showing and I managed to download to my computer with no issue.

I have had this camera now for two months and was concerned the affordable price would give me something substandard but you will honestly get a beautiful cinematic look that is of breathtaking quality. I’m using the Sony 50mm 1.4 with an ND filter, giving a beautiful look way passed the quality of previous cameras that I had used like the Black Magic series.

The Sony FX3 is reliable and opening up childhood dreams of being able to make shorts.

This camera is as bigger a game changer as the 5D was all those years ago. I’m an Arri and Fuji man but the colour science coming out of a Venice2 I used recently was superb. This little camera is the same. Intuitive cine centric layout. Thank you Sony. I’m a massive fan.

I bought this camera 8 months ago in Dubai, and now the power switch don't work, I have to remove the battery and re insert it to power it. Many times the camera freeze, I should restart it. I didn't expect that. Now I have to pay an air ticket to bring it in the shop I bought it in dubai to repair.

Stabilization is insane, this camera has all that you need for great videos.

latest updates remove ability to swap between pal and ntsc and doesnt allow you to use professional batteries such as Vmounts, or 3rd party batteries

After the shutter angle announced to be included in the upcoming update please make sure we have an embedded false color instead of us using external false color luts that often arent as accurate as an in cam false color can be

This camera is the most useable camera I ever got. You can shoot almost all types of content thanks to different codecs - Intra and also HEVC, you can use autofocus for quick projects but also use manual focus lenses for bigger productions.

The first and only Cinema camera which doesn't allow to use of V mount batteries or any other batteries. After the last update, you can not use V-mount batteries (any production standard) or any 3-rd party batteries, therefore it is useless for big production when you need your camera to run all the time and and use V-mount batteries.

A number of features made this camera appealing to me as a solo-shooter. Most notably the good battery life, flip out screen, autofocus, lowlight capabilities, compact design and memory recall pre-sets . I’ve come from the BMPCC 4K which although has the best image quality I’ve ever owned, it’s inconvenient for my style of work due to bad battery life, file sizes and big(ger) body. The FX3 ticks all the boxes if you’re doing a lot of the work by yourself. It’s reliable and very portable. I pretty much only use the 24-70mm Gmaster lens for my work, and its versatility has saved me a lot of time. I already owned a Sony Tough V90 as card which came in handy. This is the first Sony camera I’ve ever owned, and I took a gamble as it an expensive camera no doubt. However, I think it’s a good introduction to Sony‘s cinema line, and I can see myself upgrading to the FX6/FX9 in the future.

The only thing that I wish this camera had was built-in ND filters, which Sony really should have included at this price point, but it’s not a huge deal.

Overall it’s a great camera and I love how small it is. Saves me time and money from heavily rigging it up like I used to do with my BMPCC 4K (although I still recommend buying a cage for the FX3 as the multiple mounting threads on the body are not good enough)

Makes Nikon's Z-series video offer look like Fisher Price's cameras for kids. Why did I persevere with Nikon video for so long - you can just pick up the FX3 and everything works staright away. Amazing.

I'm new on this bussines, and after a month, I'm looking like a pro, cause the camera it's freaking good at getting great results...

I cannot fault the image quality that comes out of this camera considering its size! Its colours are beautiful and Sony Cine Style preset is a brilliant preset which I use often especially if I know I don't need to match to other cameras. Also the autofocus and touch track focus feature is incredible and makes life so easy when tracking subjects whilst walking with them or just moving in focal plans. However, I do miss the viewfinder! I didn't think I would but the screen is very small and not bright enough when outside! This can regularly become a problem. I also think it needs more horseshoe mounts as once the audio handle is on, you aren't left with any room for anything else. A horseshoe mount on top of the handle and/or on the side would solve this.
