    Boss Board

The Board has everything you need and more. With more than 2 M.2 NVME slots, Plenty of back port USBs incl 2 Thunderbolt USB-C ports, Wifi, Bios flashback, on board power and reset buttons, and a nice sprinkle of RGB it is top tier. The board also boasts beneficial things like plenty of fan ports, Plug points for temp and water loop additions, USB 3.1 header ports x2 that are side mounted to the board not outward set, and even USB 3.2 Gen 2 on there. This isnt as OP as the APEX board but with 2 more RAM slots and plenty other additionals there is still plenty power options and benefits for this board compared to the alternative

Rog Maximus XIII Hero Board. NOT BORED...

Rog Maximus XIII Hero. What a rock solid board. From taking it out off the packaging to switching on the system for its first boot.

Excellnt instructions book ( Idiot guide )

Simple bois, intuative and simple to use.

I do wish that using m.2 sockets didnt conflict with sata ports. so you can have more drives connected.

But i am sure that is to come in the future.

    4 x m.2 drives intalled & 2 sata ssd's installed.

    Booted up perfectly.

    Looks that part too.

Plenty of rgb pins and enough usb ports to sink a warship.

Great through put speeds and keeps cool under presure.

    Totaly love it.

    Would Definately recomend

    Utterly brilliant

This is an amazing Z590 board that is full of great features. From the moment you open the box you can tell it is a quality product, it is well built and feature rich. Install was easy and there are loads of fan and water pump headers. I love the BIOS and easy update along with the other software tools and they made it easy to set up the RAM to run at its optimum speed. Fan expert makes it simple to configure airflow and control the fan speed relative to power consumption and temperature. The AI over clocking works perfectly and increased my I7 11700k by 41%. If you are more adventurous you can go further and tweak each core in the chip. I run it non overclock Ed but it is great to know that the headroom is there. This board is blisteringly fast with the PCIE 4 ssd and I’m confident it will last me for many years. I had originally ordered a cheap mainboard from a competitor but it looked and felt inferior so I exchanged it for the ASUS and I’m so glad I made that choice and didn’t compromise on the mainboard.

More than 4 SSD drives may cause a problem

Good motherboard but if u have 6 SSD's sometimes only 5 will load and it is random which, I think this is linked to the M.2 capability of the board which works against it, for example if u were using M.2 which I do not then u can only use 4 SATA ports, when I first booted up it only gave me 4 SSDs even though I have no M.2, after a bios update it now gives me 6 but sometimes it loads 5. There is deffinetly a problem in the design of this motherboard so be aware of that.

    Best motherboard I have had

This board has everything I need. The only down side to it is that there is no obvious way to boot from a USB flash drive. There is nothing in the manual. I spent several hours trawling the internet for answers and as usual, all the posts were wrong, at least for this board. I contacted Asus Support who also didn't know how to do it (hence only 4 stars, otherwise it would have got 5). It might be different for a virgin build where the HDD / SSD is blank, but I was upgrading from a previous Asus Z170A / i7 build that already had an OS on the boot SSD. I worked it out for myself in the end, so for anyone who is having the same problem here are the instructions:

Ensure your USB flash drive installer is in one of the rear USB ports

    Disconnect any other USB drives

Get into BIOS (Del or F2 on boot)

Go into Advanced menu if not already there.

Press F12. You will se the USB flash drive, select it

Go to the Boot menu and select the USB flash drive from the drop down list

Move the USB drive to the first boot device position

    Save and exit
