A1 or A7r v Sony
As the Sony A1ii has come on the market the price of the A1 is coming down.reading all the burr on A7rv was going for that one then read a1 will knock it out the park and out do it.so looking on sites LCE came up with one low shutter one gave me a good price on my A7iii.so got mint A1 way be low half price happy customer.
Flagship Model A1 Sony.
Bought this a month ago and I’ve been so happy using it out in the field! I’ve photographed football and BIF (birds in flight) with almost all being keepers! Focusing is superb! Battery life is really good too! Handling of the camera is better than my other camera Sony A9. My go-to lens on the A1 is my Sony 200-600mm G Lens. A superb combo for action! I’ve held off buying the A1 previously due to the overwhelming high price but now it’s dropped in price purchasing a Excellent used camera was a no- brainer for me at half price of a New one! I would have given it 5stars if it had the flippy screen of the replacement A1 mk2.
Camera is fine but service is not
Pro Camera with no local service in Finland. So 3/5 is max.
Loving the a1
As a long-time a9 user, I had pondered about buying the a1 for well over a year.
Finally convinced by the 50MP sensor, I took the plunge a few weeks ago. As the camera will primarily be used for wildlife photography, the flexibility to crop images in processing, or using the in camera crop sensor (1.5x focal length) gives me many options without losing out on image quality which sometimes happened with large crops on a 24MP sensor.
The menu took some getting used to, but this is a much more sophisticated camera than the a9. The in-camera guide is very useful!
In terms of ergonomics, I have small hands but have adjusted to the slightly larger a1.
Image quality is great and a few test video recordings look promising.
A1 a game changer
I have used the other systems and decided Sony offered what I needed, and how right I was. Quality, customisation and functionality, what a camera!!!!
Nopea ja tarkka AF-tarkennus
Muutoin tyytyväinen, mutta kohinanpoiston pitäisi olla huomattavasti parempi näin hintavassa kamerassa (vrt. Canon R3).
Runko saisi myös olla kookkaampi R3 tapaan.
The best camera
The best camera all in one amazing quality and great picture
As hoped.
Everything I was hoping it would be. Reassuringly superb resolution.
Excellent all-rounder.
The difficult part of purchasing this camera was deciding whether I could justify the price, and I am still ambivalent about that. It is a complex beast to set up but having done so everything appears to work as advertised. Aviation photography is my main area of interest and the autofocus is superb; locking on to subjects better than my previous A7R5. The camera is comfortable in the hand, even with a 100-400 GM attached. No negatives so far...except that price.
Sony a1
I bought this a month ago coming from being a Canon user for nearly 15 years quality of photos are amazing. Getting used to menu system which because you can customise all buttons the way you want is good
Top camera
Brought this as my first go to body to use, I cannot see myself using the A7R iv that much now, the focusing is fast and accurate, way better than other systems I've had in the past, the picture quality is superb.
Fantastic camera
This is a brilliant camera, with lots of functions and impressive performance, all in a small footprint compared to the big mirror cameras. The five further GM lenses I plan to get have impressive specs too, benefitting from the lower f-numbers achievable on wide-angle lenses with mirrorless cameras. Superb!
A1
I have had the Camera from 11/10/23 it’s easy to use once you read about it, Sony send emails and explain all you need to know. I changed from Canon D5 v thats a good camera but the detail on the flying birds that I really love taking are great. I really was impressed, I love it
Superb performance from my a1
An excellent performer. A true hybrid camera. The a1 is my go to professional tool. Sony knocked it out of the park with this one. My only disappointment is lack of firmware updates to offer such an expensive camera the same features as much cheaper newer models.
Simply the best!!
What an amazing camera this is, the bird eye autofocus and animal eye autofocus is the best about, it is so fast and once it locks on it stays on. This camera is expensive but there is a reason for that, it’s the best.
Brilliant camera
I bought this last year and love it. It has so many features. Its EVF is amazing, thank goodness as the back screen is not the best. I wish Sony would change this. The menu system is better than the original menus and easier to find things.
Does everything and more.
For years and years I've been wanting a camera that ticks all of the boxes (for stills) and I think the A1 is such a camera. Whilst things will inevitably move on I can't honestly see what else I would need from a camera. 50mp is more than enough, and overkill for most applications, nice to have for cropping wildlife photos though. 30fps again is overkill, but it's great to get 20fps with full uncompressed raw.
Want a high res EVF with high refresh rate, yep the A1 has it. Want an autofocus system that works like magic and just nails everything, again the A1 has it. Bird eye AF is just insane.
Sony colours have continued to improve over the years and the colours from the A1 are very true to life from my experience. I still prefer to use color fidelity profiles over the Sony ones in lightroom though.
The only negatives is the low res LCD screen, I'm not sure why Sony didn't put something better in such an expensive camera, however this is a very minor point, and I do wish they'd make their cameras a few mm wider just t give that extra room between the grip and lens.
What a cracking camera
Bought the A1 2 weeks ago and what a fantastic camera it is does everything I want and a bit more too it out performs anything I have used before
Best of everything.
Really pleased that I upgraded from my A9, loved my A9 but this is just better for sports & landscape photography. Extra megapixels make a nice difference without losing the speed of the stacked sensor.
Sony A1
As a profess photographer working on feature films the A1 is everything and more. A complete game changer.
Sony a1
Stunning camera, in every aspect.
You will not be disappointed purchasing one.
The detail and speed is amazing.
A1. It lives up to it's reputation; it's A1 for qu
I have had the camera for just a few days, and have had to learn it's menu settings for my genre of photography ?_ landscapes, birds in flight and macro.
The early results are superb: incredible resolution and focus ability.
I expect to be able to get exactly what I want of this camera for exhibition, fine art work.
There are a few Olympus like functions that I would like to see Sony implement in the firmware: Focus Stacking with RAW output; Focus Bracketing; Pro Capture. I believe that many other owners wish for this too.
I upgraded from Olympus; I don't think that I will regret it.
AMAZING CAMERA
Upgraded from the SONY A7Riii which is a brilliant camera, but having tried a couple of A1 cameras from friends decided to splash out and go for it. Jaw dropping, amazing, fabulous, love it. I use with the Sony 55 prime, 85 prime, 16-35 and the new 70-200 markII.
