  1. All the benefits of a Kamado, none of the issues

    Arvosana 5/5
Absolutely love this grill. All the benefits of a Kamado - gets to super high heat, easy to dial in the temp and it just stays there, and its super fuel efficient, but none of the drawbacks - its significantly lighter than a ceramic Kamado, and you can adjust temps more easily. They should market these more aggressively against BGE and Kamado Joe - they'd take the whole market.

  3. Love my new Summit Kamado

    Arvosana 5/5
I bought my Summit Kamado a few months ago and am very glad I did. It holds temperature's very steady and everything we have made on it from pulled pork, ribs, chicken and steak have turned out excellent. It is very easy to clean as well with the Ash bucket at the bottom. Overall I could not be happier with my purchase.

  4. Best all-around barbecue out there

    Arvosana 5/5
I work in the industry and have experience on just about every grill, barbecue, smoker available. Weber never disappoints. I own the Ranch Kettle, Smokey Mountain, and the Summit Charcoal (Kamado) Grill Center. The temperature control on this unit is unrivaled from a nice cold smoke to blazing hot. The Summit Kamado is always my first recommendation to clients looking for the finest. They way everything turns out is off the charts excellent!

  5. Weber has outdone themselves!

    Arvosana 5/5
I am very happy with my Summit Kamado. I had it drop shipped to my home and assembled it myself. Out of the box, the excellent quality of this grill was obvious. So far I have smoked a pork shoulder, St. Louis ribs and other cuts with excellent results. It holds the temp comparable to other kamado/egg style cookers. I've also grilled burgers, chicken wings and veggies. I could not be more impressed, it's worth the price. A couple of tips: 1) use some all purpose grease to lube the wire basket, otherwise it's pretty much useless, 2) use quality lump charcoal (you need less than you think for smoking purposes), 3) follow the assembly instructions carefully and take your time. Other than that, get ready to impress your friends and family!

  6. OEM rotisserie needed!

    Arvosana 5/5
Love this grill, great alternative if you don't want the maintenance of a proper ceramic kamado grill. Kudos to Weber for incorporating the kamado concept while staying true to their signature original steel charcoal grill design where it all started. Its like you get the best of both in this model with the durability and ease of maintenance of steel married together to those of us who love Kamado grills. I hope Weber plans to continue with making Kamado grills (i was a little worried they might only make this model for a few years and discontinue it) and continue to improve on this same product line. If I could ask Weber to improve one thing important to me: Please make an OEM rotisserie spit that is designed to fit this grill! I hope enough customers want this like me. Kamado grill enthusiasts also love specialized pizza stone and accessories too... so my humble suggestion to Weber is to keep building a loyal following to compete against Kamado Joe!

  7. Weber Grilling and Smoking-Refined!

    Arvosana 5/5
Having worn through a handful of Weber Kettles and Performer Charcoal Grills over the past 3 decades, I've enjoyed creating dishes that go beyond the ordinary grill fare. Along the way have been many parties and the basic grill has been supplemented with a large Weber Smoker as well as the "big boy" Kettle Ranch which mesmerize the crowds. That being said the Summit Kamado S6 is a whole different tool and it will take time for me to exploit all of the versatility. However what I've learned is that it retains heat like none before and allows for regulation of temperature like a fine oven. Combined with the accessories that are easy to swap out in the center (IMHO--must buys) I've been able to take my grilled dishes into unchartered territory. I live in a "Green Egg territory" and the brick and mortar dealers where I have purchased my previous Webers all tried to dissuade me from going in this direction. HOWEVER the Green Egg does not have the propane starter system so that became a non-starter as convenience on a daily basis is important--especially as our pre-Covid 19 life returns bit by bit. Kudo's to Weber's design and manufacturing team for creating an amazing grill!

EXCELLENT COOKER However I don't like using the Stainless Steel Defuser Plate because the meat doesn't create the bark I'm use to seeing and tasting when I cook the Indirect Method. Also you need to do a SAFETY MODIFICATION on the Propane Gas KNOB. It doesn't have the WRITTEN text "ON" or "OFF" on the knob as shown in the assembly instructions. I was not familiar with the so called "ICONS" on the knob. Never having a COOKER with a propane fuel ignition. My first use I had the knob turned counter clockwise to ignite the propane as shown in the INSTRUCTIONS. After about 4 minutes the CHARCOAL FUEL was 65% burning. I reduced the flame out put to 25%. Later on the CHARCOAL was 100% lite. I started my cook forgetting to turn OFF the propane tank completely. Remember I had never had any experience with a CHARCOLE Fuel IGNITION system. I finished my COOK. The following day I was working near the Weber KAMADO S6. I had turned on a squirrel cage fan in the corner of our covered porch. Note the Weber KAMADO S6 was OUT SIDE the roof overhang. I was about 7 feet off set the Weber, near the fan, when I smelled gas. My first thought was a neighbor had a gas leak. I moved closer towards the Weber to investigate my neighbors. Noticing a stronger smell of gas. I REALIZED I had not shut off the propane tank completely the evening before. INSTINCTIVELY I turned the Propane KNOB COUNTER clockwise thinking I was shutting off the propane Knob. Because the Knob had Icons I did not understand. I actually cause the ignition to spark. Setting off a EXPLOSION. Blowing the LID WIDE open. The grill jumped 4 inches off the ground. BURNED both arms to a second degree burn. If the KNOB had "ON and "OFF" embossed on the Knob. I probably would have rotated the knob the CORRECT way shutting OFF the propane, not igniting the propane. Please consider EMBOSSING "ON" and "OFF" on the Knob like shown in the user manual. Your safety warnings in the literature are well composed and direct. However not fail safe. I labeled my Knob "ON and "OFF" with #18 FONT next to the Icons using a Brothers Lable Maker. Incorporating a directional arrows LEFT and RIGHT next to the On and Off text.
