Don't waste your money!
I have nothing but issues with this printer. The most recent being it refuses to print double sided on a5 no matter what I do!! It prints double sided on a4 without an issue and always did a5 before but not it won't. The amount of paper and ink I have wasted trying to resolve it is ridiculous. Looking for another printer so this can go in the bin which is disappointing as I haven't had it long
Mr
I have had this for 6 months. I am now going back to ann HP. The printer continually goes "offline" and has to be reinstalled. Its very slow to print (when its working). You can hardly read the minute black and white LCD screen because its so dark. Documentation and problemsolving support is very poor. Not recommended
Disappointed
unable to print A5 photo quality prints (o k for 7x5s and 6x4s; and no mention of the top document loader in the instructions.
Great tool for the home office
I bought this 2 months ago and so far so good ,let's see if it keeps performing.
Pixmap G70 multifunction printer
Nice machine but I find it hard to understand the functionality, I expect it to be my age. I hope that I can master it in time.
Cannon G7050
Happy with the printing, but disappointed with the scanning which is very slow.
Fax not required!
Exactly what I required
I had been looking at refillable printers for some time and having previously owned a Canon printer found them to be good quality and value. What stopped me buying was most re-fillables do not do automatic duplex but this one does so although it was dearer than I'd intended spending it was the right choice for me. Inks seem to be lasting very well and printer is easy to control and use.
Early impressions very encouraging.
For the most part it was easy to set up, installing printer heads and ink compared to previous printers which used cartridges and had fixed printer heads was a bit fiddly but that was because it was our first experience of an 'ECO' printer and so this bit was new and unfamiliar. A sheet showing the position of all the orange transit tape would have been useful. Print quality looks good from all the test pages etc. Copying and scanning a little slower than we were used to but of no great concern. All looks promising for future printing.
I bought this and wish I hadn't.
I do not have a CD drive, online driver was used. Took many hours to get the first print. Prints were sent to computer storage instead of the printer. The little screen on the printer is not back lit and difficult to read under some lighting conditions.
Outstanding printer
We got this printer to save money on ink. It prints really well, holds a lot of paper and after using it for a year, we can say it has saved a lot of money and time. We use the printer regularly, my daughter the most on her college studies. In just over a year, the ink levels are at about halfway down - no more changing cartrides every week or so.
Printed documents are very clear and detailed. We can print from an app, which is useful.
We have just started to use the scanner on old photos from the 1980's. It scans them so clear, a 6 inch by 4 inch photo looks like a digital photo taken recently when scanned, great detail and clarity.
We are very pleased, a great printer, well built, great features and it does the basics (printing & scanning) very well indeed.
Easy to set up, simple to use
Having used this for a few months now, I'm finding it easy to use.
I use different thickness of paper so having the rear paper feeder and tray is great.
Setting up the printer and filling the inks was very easy and quick.
Printer Good sw setup a pain
I bought this multi ink refillable printer on Which recommendation to replace an HP Officejet. Excellent printer, but because the device could not be found on the network I had to manually install drivers. whsat a palaver. Sent to Canon USA who do not have this model. Eventually found European site as UK one kept forcing a standard install which would not work > I installed same printer on my wife's laptop without any issues but the scanner still does not work from my somewhat older laptop. Also untranslating the passcode entry where numerals are not displayed just asterisks. It could be a lot easier to setup in my opinion. HP route is a similarly large sw bundle but you just download it and it all happens from PC without the internet until that is needed.
Reliable workhorse
We've owned this printer for a couple of months. It is much slower than I was led to believe, especially printing double-sided (most of the printing we do is double-sided!). Our old Brother printer was so much faster. We like the hassle-free refillable ink containers though. The Brother one gulped up ink and rejected any compatible cartridges, and in the end the Brother ones too. Hence we pensioned it off.

Great printer for crafters
Have been using this printer for about a month it was very easy to set up and instructions are very clear.I use this printer as a paper crafter the quality of the printer is good and it can take card stock up to 300gsm. It is quite slow at colour printing but having the ink tanks is a trade off as it’s so much cheaper to run then cartridges . Very pleased so far albeit the printer is a bit chunky so space is needed to store.
Not for me
Not up to the usual Canon standard. Difficult to set up.
Photo printing not the best
Don't know why but the photo prints just look dull, have tried playing with the settings and it just always comes out sub par. One/two colour prints tend to look okay though
No more expensive ink cartridges
I transitioned to the PIXMA MegaTank primarily to get away from the irritating cartridge refills of my previous printer. So far, so good. The PIXMA was very easy to set up and prints at a reasonable speed and with high quality.
Great Printer
We had our G 7050 for just over a week now. So far we have printed out all our Christmas cards & we are delighted with the quality of print. Our previous printer was MG 7000 series which was a 6 ink printer. Our concerns were that the print wouldn't be as good. We had a card which was printed using the 6 ink so we printed out the same card using the new one. I can honestly say that although there was a slight difference in colour, it was perfectly acceptable. It's so nice not to have to worry about the cost of printing. I can therefore recommend this printer. Your staff were most helpful, particularly Jordan (Ion) & Nicholas.
Surprised and disappointed
The biggest issue with this printer is the basic interface which seems straight from the 90s. You get a tiny unlit dot matrix display and a bunch of buttons very much like the old style fax machines from yesteryear. I was disappointed that you cannot have it wired to the router and connect via wifi at the same time, you have to choose one or the other. If you want to switch between the two, this involves reinstalling the installation software from scratch on all your computers - a longwinded process all in all. When I tried to simply change settings from the basic front panel, I found that nothing was connecting anymore. It's a bit of a shock when you're used to controlling everything easily smoothly from a touch screen. I think Canon have cut too many corners with regards to the interface and the software which is surprising as it's not cheap and it is meant to be for a home office environment.
easy set up
This printer has all the features i was looking for, and at a very good price. Colour, Duplex, ADF, and mega tanks; all there. Easy set up, and filling the tanks was straightforward. Dont like that the control panel is hard to read unless really close - It's not small, just hard to read without a backlight. The printer does take quite a while to start to print. The initiator first gets a message that the printer is offline every time a print is started. It's just a waiting game until the printer becomes active. Duplex printing is the slowest of any printer I have previously had, again be patient. Printing a large 2-sided document is much quicker printing on one side first then re-fed to print the second side. Kind of defeats the purpose.
Great ink tanks - but slow slow slow
We bought it for the ink tanks. But the printer and scanner is extremely slow. The interface is from the stoneage.
Easy to use, great printer for the family!
We bought the printer for home, where we need to print a fair amount due to home working, school work etc ...
The printer is easy to use, good quality and cost effective.
Can't really judge it because it did not work properly and sent it back.
I heard so many good reports about this printer and as it was out off stock and had to wait about two months before I received one, thinking that it must be a really good printer. How disappointed I was. I only printed about three or four prints and it started playing up.Can't really judge or condemn its I may have just got a duff one. It was fairly solid and well built, but what I did not like about it was firstly the small screen, which was not illuminated, so much so I had to get a magnifying glass and still it was had to see. The second thing was that the instrument panel was not fixed at an angle. One has to lift it up and then when pressing the print button the panel falls down. The thing I wanted most was that it prints card up to 300gsm, but I never got the chance to find out. People want quality without companies producing things on the cheap. It puts people off!
