I wanted to upgrade my ISP provided router with something which had more control, functionality and better performance - the ASUS DSL-AX82U met those needs. However, whilst on paper the spec looks good, there are some areas that need attention and could be improved - hence the 4 star rating.

Specifically, the DDNS provider options are limited with only one DDNS provider used by Hikvision. The AI Trend protection available via the web GUI and phone app gives differing protection status, in my case mid level assessment on GUI and high on the app!! Furthermore, when clicking the the Trend Protection link for more information about encountered problems you are directed to a non existent web page! Although ASUS provide a lot of support data on their routers I found that in some cases it needs updating, particularly the CyberGhost VPN instructions.

Edelleen hyvä ja helppo konfata. Jouduin ostamaan vielä uuden, kun taloyhtiön netti on niin hidas DSL yhteys. Piti olla 100 meganen mutta käytännössä maksimi oli 10 megaa. Nyt on 5G reititin ja menee,200mb tai enemmän. Kyllä ASUS on vielä käytössä , kun taloyhtiön netti on vielä käytössä kun kuuluu vastikkeeseen. Kaikkea hyvää ASUSISTA. T.Jari 58v

I purchased this DSL router to replace the Sky router I have. I followed all the instructions, installed the latest firmware,followed all the forum threads with regards to settings and still no joy, it just comes up saying the cable is not connected so I cannot give this a good review from a compatibility point of view. If Asus technical team think they can help to fix this then by all means contact me and if they can get it to work then I will change my rating.

A very good performance, strong signal and stable connection router. Strongly recommended.

Gteat router for streaming video around the house with zero buffering, it also has a very easy web based user interface for custome settings. You can also access the router from an app.. This router is very stable and will not disappoint you.

problem with warranty , i registered product and supposed to have three year warranty but gave me 1 month ,trying to get reply from asus taking for ever. other issue was thought i was buying a ai mesh product and no info until purchased i now find it is only compatible for asus mesh products that are more expensive to buy. first and last time i buy asus.

This is a easy to setup cable router,always found Asus to be of good quality

Bought this to replace my existing router which was having problems with my seperate modem!

Couldn’t get it to connect properly & often dropped connections!, casting to TV’s was very hit & miss & frustrating! Now everything works just like it should, have great connections & films to tv’s work like a dream! Great piece of kit. The ASUS phone app works really well so you can monitor all your connections & alter any settings easily.

I’ve been looking at this Modem / Router for ages and as I already had an AI Mesh setup (XT-8 & 2x XT-9) it was the logical choice. Before getting this I had to use my ISP modem and feed in WAN from there… it was slow and not very efficient, often dropping signal and needing to be rebooted frequently.

With the DSL-AX82U, the problems are gone and my mesh is now extended too. Well worth the money and very easy to set up.

Great router compared to my isp router. Stronger signal and great customization

I am very impressed with this ASUS combination Modem and Router, especially with the accompanying app. Once you have downloaded the app and installed it on your smartphone, setup is both quick and easy. Can definitely recommend.

Laite hyvin muotoiltu ja visuaalisesti säädettävällä valoefektillä saa juuri sopivan valon laitteeseen, tai jättää sen pois. Laiteen käyttöliittymä on selkeä ja helppokäyttöinen. Lisäarvoa laitteessa tuo USB-liitin, johon saa asennettua suoraan verkkolevyn, joka toimii omana yksityisenä pilvenä.

Bought this router to upgrade my wireless range/strength compared to the router provided to my by my isp (sky).

It is a slight improvement, however, for the money i was expecting a little more.

Also, turning on "game mode" also halves your bandwidth which i didnt know so i just leave it off.

other than that, it does the job.

Really impressed with my new Asus RT-AX82U router, very easy to set up, super-fast speeds and a great looking device.

I bought this router recently to expand my home network. It has two cameras connected to it, a demanding IPTV, a gaming pc and several portable devices.

I have an AI mesh setup with an rt-ax58u.

The tailored setup on the mobile app made setting up the network fairly easy, even for an amateur like me.

I love the OFDMA and MU-MIMO tech in these routers. It keeps the signal steady and lag free, which is excellent for the cameras and pc connected to it.

The aura RGB gives it a nice finish which my toddler adores!!

I totally recommend buying it if your on the hunt for a router as it's one of the best Asus have to offer.

The RT=AX82U is one of the best routers I have ever owned. It provides all the settings which I will ever need to set up my home network and offers added security with ASUS AiProtection Pro.

The Wi-Fi performance is good with the ability to adjust the signal strength. The Wi-Fi can be scheduled so that the signal can be turned off when not required with each day of the week having a different schedule. The 2.4Ghz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands can be separated which enables a unique schedule to be set for each band together with a different ID. All Very useful.

The router has four Ethernet ports and a WAN port which is more than many ISP routers have.

My only minor criticism is that the power adaptor would benefit from having a longer DC cable.

Absolute breeze to set up, took no time at all. I'm on Sky which can be challenging but not with this router. All the issues I had before with Sky have gone, strong wifi signal around the house and Sky Q now behaves. If you have Sky I would highly recommend this.

Wifi speeds are almost on par with directly wired speeds. Could not be happier.

Easy to set up with some great functions. Port forwarding, QOS, NAT rules all straight forward.

Cannot get set up on new Fibre broad band. Asus help desk REALLY SLOW and no resolution after 2 weeks of trying.

Superb router I can’t fault it in anyway, definitely recommend it if you a looking for something with high scalability and built in security.
