Its base unit is heavy enough to remain stable while working with the upper part. It boils the cold water pretty fast, so far so good! :) The keep warm feature may cost if you forget it on for a day or two (I'm not yet sure whether there is a timer to turn that off), anyone knows?
Overall, it doesn't have the 'too cheap' feel.
