The electromagnetic noise coming from my laptop, when SSD is doing something, is caught by this CloudLifter. It’s really loud and annoying. If I move it around in space it gets louder or quieter by doesn’t disappear completely. I’ve tried to cover it with foil and to use a long cable to move it few meters away from the laptop. It was still catching enough of that robotic digital impulses noise so that it really annoys me. Apart from this it does the its job. Probably if there is no such electromagnetic noise that this tool is sensitive to it should be a pretty good part of your equipment. Just keep in mind that it kind of need special conditions to be used in. I bought it to use with Shure SM7B, without it the gain knob on my mixer is maxed out but it’s still doable I’d say. At least the white noise coming from the relatively cheap preamp is not that loud and not that annoying as square digital impulses noise.

Toimii oikein hyvin matalan ulostulotason omaavan dynaamisen mikrofonin kanssa (esim. Shure SM7B), mutta tarvitsee phantom poweria toimiakseen. Näin ollen kannattaa pitää huolta siitä, että mikserissä/etuasteessa/äänikortissa on +48V mahdollisuus. Huomioitavaa on myös, että tämä malli _ei_ päästä phantom poweria lävitseen, eli tätä ei voi käyttää sellaisen mikrofonin kanssa, joka itsessään tarvitsee phantomia (esim. suurin osa kondensaattorimikrofoneista). Voisiko tästä tehdä mallin, jossa olisi mahdollisuus kytkimellä valita, että päästetäänkö virta mikrofonille saakka vai ei?
