Great Low-Light Performance & Cinematic Quality
The Sony A7S III is an outstanding camera that delivers exceptional video quality, especially in low-light conditions. The dynamic range, 4K 120fps recording, and improved autofocus make it a powerhouse for both videographers and photographers. The color science is fantastic, and the dual native ISO ensures clean footage even in challenging lighting. It’s lightweight yet durable, with an intuitive menu system that makes shooting effortless. Whether for professional work or creative projects, this camera exceeds expectations. Highly recommend!

I bought this camera a month ago and I can say that all that you heard is true. It is a great camera. 10 bit makes huge difference than 8 bit
Content King
I recently bought this to pair with my A7iv, replacing my 5-year-old A7iii for primarily action sports photo/video, as well as podcasts and corporate work. For me, it was the obvious choice over the FX series, with nearly identical bodies, shared accessories and complimentary specs (plus often being in dusty/muddy environments I don't want a fan system to clog and the viewfinder is more useful to me). The A7iv is a little sharper and has more dynamic range (plus photo resolution) but the A7Siii beats it on the rolling shutter, slow motion and high isos. There's not much this camera can't do and if there's something it falls short in, Sony has another body that would fill the gap as a second camera or something to rent for a specific job. Basically, if you can't make it look good with this camera it's something you're doing wrong
A delight for videoing property interiors
Fairly easy to use (coming from Nikon menus). Installed the recent firmware update - all good so far.
Amazing video quality
A few months ago, I made the best decision by purchasing the Sony A7S III—it truly elevated my videos and photos to a whole new level!
Some features missing
I have several cameras and have recently started using my Sony a7siii camera more and I have noticed it dosen't have a sd card formating option, neither can I perform and update for the camera and lens, even I have just updated my both mac computers that are very strong, current and expensive products. I don't feel very happy about this after all the expensive lenses and other products you need to buy next to the camera znd still there is problems.
Neat and good handling
Already own an A7s11 which has given me great results. The A7s111 has some additional features but I haven't had the camera long enough to evaluate it properly.
Doesn't live up to the hype
For a camera of this price point the stabilisation is awful, and useless for video shooting, unless you use 'active stabilisation' which crops into the image. Even then the stabilisation 'holds on' to the image, then suddenly releases in a really unnatural way when panning, not ideal. I reckon that's why all the promo videos and YouTube videos are shot in slow motion. Shooting at 25 fps the image jitters all over the place, when just trying to hold the camera steady in your hand. Turning stabilisation off makes he camera virtually unusable for handheld shots. You're going to need a gimbal for this camera. I've shot with many cameras in 45 years of industry experience and this is the worst stabilisation I've ever seen. I sent my camera back in the hopes that it was faulty. Awaiting the replacement, but, from what I've heard,I'm not sure it will be any different.
Best all in one package
I pair this camera with my FX6 and it is a perfect B Cam pairing. The colours are fantastic as well as the autofocus, and now the A7s line has 10bit built in, it is a much more viable camera for filmmakers, with an image that really stands up against its bigger brothers.
Well pleased with results so far.
Does all that it says on the tin , plus much more that i haven't discovered how to do yet.!
Weapon
This is a great piece of kit for outside videography. It’s a bit like an onion loads of layers to learn but is an incredible piece of kit!
Best compact camera ever but…
The best compact camera you can get. The only thing to improve it is that missing a 120p 4K raw out. This can give the a hight value to this camera. It is not compatible with blackmagic recorder you can not use it with DaVinci
A fantastic camera for video
A great low light camera. The flip out screen is a tad feeble and low res but apart from that it excels in every department. Very delighted with it.
Love this camera
I waited years for this camera to come out and it has not disappointed. I feel like I'm only scratching the surface with it's capabilities. But most importantly the picture is gorgeous.
My only complaint is how much the media cards cost! It makes it very difficult to stock up with reserves.
Other than that, no complaints at all.
Amazing
The best camera right now, I’m enjoying it so much.
Great camera but to lock up during a shoot!!
Having owned the original camera for 6 months, very carefully looked after, mid way through a Funeral Filming the camera completely froze. All the controls including the On/Off switch were non functional. Finally had to eject the battery to overcome the problem. This corrupted the SD card so I lost all the recording to this point. The battery was a genuine Sony as supplied, the SD cards were Angelbird V90 top of the range. Camera was also powered via a USB Powerbank on full charge. I was only recording in 1080p so was not over stressing the unit with high data rates.
Great Futures
Sony is ahead of everyone can't give up their products
FANTASTIC VIDEO CAMERA - BUT !!
Bought this Camera for Video. Camera is fantastic, however, if you are a Mac computer user, then Firmware Updates are not available as Sony does not have a working software update pack. I eventually had to install Windows 10 on Parallels Desktop so that could update all 3 of my Sony Camera's Firmware.
A game changer
I'm very happy. I can now do tracking shots without having to worry about focussing.
This is a great camera
Best Mirrorlesss 4k Camera
I have been using this camera for over a year now and its absolutely fantastic camera, the video quality is night and clean especially in low light situations, it's so much easier to colour grade slog3 footages because of the 10bit output my only problem is that Sony should have released this camera years ago instead of making us wait.
422 is amazing
There is still some friction when it comes to getting an absolute cinema quality image out of this camera, but it isn't a cinema camera. For its size and price this is a jewell! Capable of almost anything. I wish when Sony stepped up from mk2 to mk3, they would have increased the pixel count to at least 16mp. We do all love the large pixels, but 12mp is barely ok for a photo camera these days. You might as well buy the fx3 or a c70. The photos are actually great, but the low MP just doesn't allow space for professional use when it comes to cropping and manipulating the image.
Great Camera! Built for video
I had the A7Siii for 6 months, unfortunately my example had a fault and while it was replaced under warranty very quickly and easily, I personally would recommend the FX3 - its a better example of this camera and more ergonomic for video!
Excellent performance
I bought 10 months ago. Excellent in every way. Great battery life.
Perfect camera
Bought this camera almost a year ago and have been impressed by the beautiful image it produces
