My baby played with this toy from 4 months to 8 months of age. The ring part is easy for babies to hold and shake, it has a small mirror covered with a crinkly fabric, which my baby loved to play with. It has animals on it which we looked at and talked about a lot and different textures to touch. We used it about 4 months, now at 8 months, he's not using it as much.
