Perfect camera and a perfect size
A great pocket size very capable camera which suits my needs having downsized from a mirrorless full frame camera and all the kit. It's a solid well built compact with many helpful onboard functions.
Still have to use it to any amount but looking forward to it.
Excellent camera for always available use.
I bought this to replace my mirrorless Z6 on trips and to have a camera available at all times. I love using it , but found the Sony stup and menus very difficult to use after using Nikon for so long.I tried the silicone case but found it too difficult to activate buttons. It should come with the handgrip already fitted ,not as an add on. The EVF is very clear and bright and nevessary in sunny shooting conditions. A very useful piece of gear to my usual dslr/ mirrorless inventory.
Top quality compact, feature filled camera.
I upgraded from my Sony RX100 V to the VII version which benefits with a zoom range of up to 200mm.
The VII version is as compact and pocketable as the previous model but is even better in flexibility, quality and sped of use. Ideal as a top quality travel camera.
Tiny beast
I love the quality of the camera, the size also it is a great feature. I was already in the sony ecosystem, so it was easy to get used to it, the flexibility of the camera is amazing, it is a tiny beast.
RX100 vii
Rx100 vii compact camera, bought 3 weeks ago, very happy so far, still getting used to it,fantastic picture quality,so many features, most important thing for me was the pop up view finder, that was one of the main reasons for buying, could say it's pricey but I think it's well worth it.
Super camera. Love it
Amazed at how sophisticated this little camera is. Fun to use and terrific results.
Quality bit of kit and
I've only had the camera a couple of weeks and am still getting to grips with it but my initial impressions are very favourable. I've taken some half decent shots, shared them and they've been much admired. The layout and handling are familiar from my owning an rx100. It feels like a quality bit of kit and in the designated Sony case it's dead classy. Pleased with my purchase.
Pocket camera
Nice solid camera fits in the pocket brought for travel so compact save taking my mirrorless out
Punching above its weight
I normally use large Canon and Leica cameras (which I love) but there are so many times you see a potential shot and don't have anything better than a smartphone to take a photo with.
The old sayings "the best camera you have is the one you have with you" and "the number of photos you take is in inverse proportion to the size of camera you use" still hold good.
After looking at every option in the pocket camera category - including the equivalent from Canon and Leica - I bought a Sony RX100 VII. It feels reassuringly solid but I recommend the AG-R2 grip, especially if you ever want to shoot one-handed.
So far, the results are much better than I hoped for out of a camera this size. I can see it going everywhere with me in the future.
The proper viewfinder is a real bonus, though the fold out screen is a pleasure to use.
Does the job
Bought for travelling. Just done test photos and surprised at quality of results and flexibility of camera. If used Sony before same menu layout as their range. Price a bit heavy but to date satisfied. Did buy a grip for camera which aids with hand holding of the unit
Get the grip.
Am still getting to grips with this new serious device - good thing I have small hands. But first impressions are that it offers too much screen info. Quality of images is super.

Downsizing was a great decision
It’s still early days but I can confidently say that trading in my bulky DSLR kit for the RX100 has proved to be the right call. So far, the Sony has given me the same control and flexibility in a camera I can genuinely in a jeans pocket and I’m starting to explore the additional features that come with the RX100.
Great picture quality
This camera it’s fantastic, such a good quality and it’s so compact, I am in love with it, my only concern it’s the battery , if it’s full charged it will keep you to do pictures for 25 min only.
Ainoa, mitä toivoisin lisää, on valovoima, zoomatessa aukko pienenee, mikä on joskus ongelma.
Not for me... Too fiddly
Thought this would be an excellent pocket camera alongside my big Canon... But too small and fiddly
RX100100 V11 Compact is amazing
I recently bought this camera and since I upgraded from the 1V version the extras such as 200 zoom and easier pop up eye view finder give such make it a true experts camera. However it is also easy to use as a beginner. So much ability that fits in my pocket.
Good one
There is few good features here, I like slow motion video record, exposure bracketing, size, it's very sharp on auto but when I go to infinity where it should be sharp for stars it's not so I have to stop before infinity mark, also it's a pity that there is no in built nd filter... Adobe didn't update lrc so I can't edit arw raw files(but that's different company so no Sony 'a fault) , once Adobe will my camera to lightroom data base I'll be more than happy
Excellent picture quality!
I bought this camera a short while ago and it’s by far the best camera I’ve ever had!
Solid Compact Camera full features.
Previously had the RX 100 m3 unit. Just upgraded to the later model. Since new this was a good Camera
One of the last Compact Pro-photo Cameras
This is my second RX100 camera. It is one of the last remaining compact cameras offering a pro-featured stills specification. It seems today the focus is all towards video. If you want a compact camera with pro-specs for stills photography this a literally your only option. It's a great option. Would be better if they designed the lens to take filters, though I guess the fear is in doing so, putting filters on and off the lens my damage its delicate powered zoom. If a new version is launched I hope it will have a base that has a arca swiss mount profile.
Early days
In most respects, this seems to be a great compact digital camera; however, I have only been using it for a few days and have much to learn. My one criticism thus far is the optical viewfinder which does not seem easy to see through, continued use and experience will tell
Fantastic camera for all day use
I was looking to downsize my mirrorless system as it was getting too heave to carry around all day. After a lot of research and a visit to the Sony stand at the London Photography show last month, I decided to buy the RX100M7.
very glad I did. It does almost all of what my previous camera did at a fraction of the weight, and produces fantastic pictures.
The only gripe is the need to add the Sony Rubber grip. without the grip it is easy for the camera to slip out of my fingers, it is much more secure to hold with the grip. I am sure Sony could add it to the package for a much more rounded offer.
The Best Compact Camera
I've always wanted a Sony RX100 compact camera and the opportunity arose recently to buy one. I'm very pleased with my purchase as this small camera takes great photos and videos straight out of the box. It also has all the flexibility needed to make adjustments for further creative shooting. It's small size means it's easy to put in a pocket and take anywhere. Over the years I've owned a number of compact cameras from Panasonic, Nikon, Kodak etc which have all been good but I would say the Sony RX100 VII is the best one. Although the Sony RX100 VII is several years old now, I would also say it's still the best compact camera available today.
Very sharp picture quality
This camera is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand but I'd very powerful abd responsive. It takes a while or perhaps a lifetime to learn all the functions but most are self explanatory.
