Fantastic lens for the cost. An all rounder for sports/wildlife.

As expected I found the lens fast focusing when using my A7Cii and my A7CR. It has the reach i need in one of the most compact forms. I successfully shot birds and even the moon. Combine with a 2x tellconverter the reach is impressive. I did replace the foot for a third party alternative but apart from that I fully recommend this lens.

The best birding lens on the market, great glass, internal zone, consistent focus and image quality and value for money.

The ability of the lens to focus when hand held at 600mm is amazing. I have added this lens for use with an A7 mk iv and and use it not only for planned outings (usually using a tripod) but also for opportunities as and when.

So glad I purchased this lens. Absolutely amazing quality and quality of shots is outstanding. Had made my photography of animals and wildlife look professional. Best buy if the year!

I have had this telephoto lens for about a month and I have been very satisfied with the results. I had delayed buying this lens for some months as I was concerned that the weight would be an issue and I should perhaps buy the smaller Sony 100-400mm telephoto lens. In facts the extra 200mm has proved very beneficial when photographing birds and wildlife, even when hand holding the lens. I also wear glasses and I knew I needed a Sony lens with fast, accurate auto focusing abilities. The Sony 200-600mm lens does not disappoint.

Who knew far away things could get so close and look so good!

I’m loving this lens. It’s not the most portable thing in the world but I knew that when I bought it and have since bought a monopod which works really well with it.

I have been using the lens for around a month now and I have to say I am stunned at some of the results I have produced with it so far.

It obviously isn't the brightest lens but when used to it's full potential it still produces a beautiful image even while being used handheld. The sharpness is fantastic and the colour rendition is brilliant too. I haven't noticed any CA or vignetting and it is a lens you can easily shoot handheld but it goes without saying that to get the best from it at 600mm a tripod is a good call.

For the budget I had I chose this lens to pair with a sony A7 IV and they are a great match and the weight means I can easily shoot handheld for a full day and still produce a great quality image.

This is a G lens so you do get what you pay for and I am always eager to get out and use it for wildlife photography. My ONLY issue with this lens is the location of the focusing ring and zoom ring, I wish they were the other way around but it is not the end of the world and I will get used to that in time.

When i first picked up the FE 200-600 from Wex in Leeds UK i couldn’t wait to pop it onto my A6700. Quick read of the manual regarding the mode switches and i was straight out in the garden. The main thing is getting used to the extra weight and how to hold and adjust the very quick zoom etc. once you build up the muscle memory it becomes a great carry around lens and a joy to use. I am getting some very sharp images of small birds and some lovely distance architecture shots as well. The image stabilisation is very good when the correct mode is switched on and once connected to a tripod or monopod it becomes very stable and again a joy to use.

I recently bought this lens and as with all my Sony lenses, it is living up to my expectations. My main use for this is to capture birds in flight. As I am getting used to it, it is becoming better and better. I will let the images speak for me. Most of the following were taken at distances between 50 and 150mtrs.

Brought the FE 200-600mm lens and I must say I am more than happy with the results I am getting from it

Initial uncertainty around 200-600mm vs 100-400mm...and the extra weight issues!

Important admission...I'm a birder...NOT a bird photographer.

I simply wanted a camera/lens that would get me great record shots, in most situations.

So glad I went for the 200-600mm!

The extra 'reach' is amazing...as is the image quality; even in quite difficult conditions.

The weight issue is quite minor... as it's easy to carry with a Black Rapid Strap...

Hand-holding the camera/lens combo has not been problemmatic...for still, active & BIF.

I've been using it for a few weeks now...protected with LensCoat cover...no issues thus far!

Delighted I chose the 200-600mm...it was excellent value for money & giving great results.

I bought this for wildlife photography and am impressed with build and image quality. I have had limited opportunity to use if so far but am excited to get out more with it.

Tried this for the first time a couple of days ago. Being new to using this type of lens, I was surprised how easy is was to use in the hand. Well balanced. will try it on the tripod next time.

I have been using this lens mostlt for wildlife photography, especially birds in flight, sometimes with the Sony 1.4x teleconverter. The results are superb. Very sharp, even when wide open. Focussing is very fast and accurate. I print A2+, the prints are pin sharp.

Overall, an excellent lens that is not too heavy and is when designed for ease of handling.

A very good well built lens I use it every day great for bird photography.

I am a novic photographer, I love my point and shoot wildlife photos. My partner treated me for Christmas with this lense and I have yet to test its full capabilities but so far I am really impressed with this lense. It is larger than I would normally use but I have invested in a monopole which helps with holding and stability. Great photos ans zoom on this lense. 100% recommended for any keen photographer whether novic or pro.
