Good overall sound
Sounds good could do with more bass for my liking main problem it keeps dropping wfi wile listening to music
Good but not what I wanted
Atmos - over head sound it’s not great I try different settings I try through optic and hdmi and it’s not very good so if you buying this for atmos then don’t find something different, if you buying this for sound quality and loudness then yes that’s a good choice
Poor sound
Nice looking sound bar when mounted on wall. When connecting through ARC sound keeps dropping out.
Very annoying would not recommend for the price.
Good with room for improvement.
Very good, probably a little overpowering for a normal sized room. I haven’t noticed the overhead sound which is disappointing but I assume that is because I may not have a spec TV to produce it (although it is a New latest LG TV) or another technical reason, (but not a design fault) that isn’t pointed out before you buy.
The only real disappointment is that the display is on the front edge so if you wall mount it, it is not visible unless you stand up close & look from above.
Great product & sound, could be ‘smarter’
Very nice product, wish there was a better menu as a lot of the features can only be modified via the smart phone app. Also a shame that voice control doesn’t work when using ARC & it can’t be switched on and off via voice.
However overall sound quality and intervention with other LG products is great. HDMI pass through is an amazing feature so not losing a HDMI port on TV when connected via eARC.
No Alexa. Sound is excellent
We wanted a sound bar that would compliment our 75”TV with Dolby Atmos. This one was almost perfect. If it had Alexa instead of Google it would have been perfect. Sound wises, for a budget unit, is excellent.
WiFi ei toimi!
Ei runnista wifiä, joten ei chromecastiakaan. HDMI-LIITÄNTÄ toimii.
WoodyGull55–64vGood quality but no eArc
Good sound quality but no eArc, model is now old compared to what's available in the market. Good with smart TV but with OLED there are better options out there.
Sound bar good
Really nice sound and easy to set up and fits well with tv I bought with it
Solid Performance
A pretty good addition to my C9 OLED as it was in a bundle offer. Sits underneath on a shelf rather than flat on the wall as I preferred the tone of the front speakers. Plenty of volume and bass from the wireless subwoofer. The only problem is the lip sync isn’t great when watching some films. Also the display on the front is quite bright and it would be useful to be able to turn it off. I would like to add the rear speakers at some point.
Sound bar
Excellent product great all round sound, easy to set up

Terrific sound
Unbelievable audio. Makes you feel your in the picture.
Great Sound except Speech needs fixing
Recently got this soundbar, I do like the look if it and it was easy to setup. Regarding the sound, it has been a bit of a hit and miss for me. as there is no centre speaker I have been finding dialogue does get a bit lost most of the time with the rest of the sound, most of the dialogue comes from the front speakers. Using the LG speaker app there also no way to adjust the front speakers levels, but you can adjust the overhead, side, rears if you have them and the sub. I think this is a big a let down of the soundbar as my main issue is the speech from content and LG not letting you adjust these speaker to possibly fix this does not help.If this was sorted to me it would turn into a great sound bar as all the other sound that comes from it is great. They could possible fix this by adding a speech enhancement option to the soundbar, my Sonos beam has this and helps so much.
I have contacted LG via Twitter etc and im hoping they fix this issue and don't just say they will look into and it just gets left as there are new soundbars coming out soon.
Great sound and build quality but the soundbar switches itself on randomly, dont how how to stop it apart from switching off at the mains.
Amazing sound
I have literally just bought this and to say I am impressed would be a gross understatement. From other reviews I've read I was looking forward to a really good audio experience, but I wasn't prepared for how good. The speaker is really easy to setup and after a short time listening to different material and making adjustments I think it sounds amazing. Movies have incredibly enveloping sound tracks with depth and width, speech is clear and crisp, and streamed music is lively and engaging. Is it as good as a system with separate speakers? No, but it's close. I love it!
Great of the Greatest
Firstly I bought Sony soundbar, then I saw that amazingly well made and looking LG SL9YG one...and, Sorry but I had to give it back the Sony's one. After all connections I can not stop playing music because the quality is from the heaven. So amazing sound, quality, beautifully presented, well made subwoofer and bar. Yes, it's not cheap but if you want to buy similar soundbar with better specs for the same price, you won't find it at all. I have done so many researches and didn't find anything like LG !!!. I am well happy. Only one problem is with Dolby Atmos. It plays Atmos when I connected via HDMI cable. Also, I think, this soundbar plays much better if it lay flat. Not on the wall. Perfection. Well done LG.
Disapinted - Average sound quality
I purchased this LG soundbar with and LG OLED as I thought it would be a great combination, sadly this is not the case as the sound quality does not match the price.
Immersive sound.
Had it now for 2 days and the sound is amazing.
Just one negative I'm a bit of a perfectionist especially when it comes to hiding excess cables, unfortunately with this unit you have no choice if you are wall mounting then cables will be on show.
The disappointing thing is the cables on show are not centrally located, the aperture that allows the cables to come from behind the unit is biased to one side and not central.
It just looks stupid when the cables on show are not central to the centre of the Soundbar and the TV, especially when the Soundbar is central to the TV.
Poor design thought from the LG design office.
Should be sold with surround sound speakers
Was not overly impressed once set up to my new Oled65c9 tv. replaced a 15yr old jvc surround sound. Went out and purchased the LG SPK8 -S. Surround sound speakers to get the experience I had with jvc. current problem every time we switch it on it does not connect to the tv. Only solution is to switch off at the plug and on again and it then finds the tv Arc sound. Awaiting LG to come back with a fix. Had all three LG products for a week.
Fantastic Sound
Bought to go with my C8 Oled and it is amazing. Fantastic sound quality the Dolby Atmos and DTS : X is awesome. Very happy
Superb sound and looks fantastic
The sound bar is fantastic, with clear centralised vocals with the wizardry of Meridian technology of surround sound in Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. I originally had a large AV receiver and large individual speakers providing 5.1 and I have to admit I was a little nervous moving to the sound bar - but no need, the surround sound is fantastic. Sat underneath my 55 inch TV, it looks so much less cluttered (which helps to keep the wife happy) and although a minor point, it is also much more energy efficient sound system - without losing quality of surround sound.
I also purchased the LG Wireless SPK8 2.0, Rear speakers - which are neat small speakers, which adds to the overall sounder sound experience, and would recommend adding them to this sound bar (these make it a 6.1.2 sound system).
I found the subwoofer (which comes with the soundbar), is best positioned away from the seating (thus over the same side of the room as the TV), merely for better, immersive sound. The overhead sound sensation, isn't something I can honestly say I have experienced yet but it is early days with the soundbar. Also the HDMI is 2.0, not 2.1 like the LG 2019 TVs.
Make sure you down load (as per the instructions), 1st Google Home App and set it up (which lets you set up the soundbars WiFi), after which, then set up the LG Wi-Fi Speaker App (this gives you more control of the Speaker levels and outputs), I found not activating the DRC or the Neural:X within the app, the best sound setting, but that is your preference. Only thing the app doesn't let you do, is control specific left or right rear channel speaker volume levels - which would be handy to control that sweet spot sound (maybe LG could consider providing this within the app).
Overall: The sound is wonderfully detailed, pure and massively immersive and would highly recommend.
